But the wait is a good thing, even though it is painful. Halo isn’t like COD, where they release a game every year or so; the three years development time that goes into the Halo games serves to make them great.

It’s a metaphor. He means that 343Industries changed some crucial elements of the gameplay that were there since Halo CE (hence, “shook the pillars”), and they managed to improve the game and we’re being “rewarded.”
I would give Halo 5 a 10/10, mostly because of the new warzone, which I can’t wait to play actively with everyone else.
