1 + I honestly liked it a lot, it didn’t have that halo 4 feel which was so awful because of all of the gimmicks. It felt just like how it was when I played Halo 2/Halo 3 team slayer; pressure is always on. I loved how fluid the game felt especially in lights of the most recent game (Halo MCC).
2 + I liked the look of the Spartans in Halo:MCC. They didn’t look awful like Halo 4’s player models (That is my opinion). They had a similar look to Halo 3’s Spartans, now think of Halo 3 Spartans but remastered. I would say that is pretty much the ball park zone.
3 + I definitely liked the winning teams end game where you would see the Spartans (both male/female a-like) give congratulatory high five and generally act like a team who just finished a game as victors. Those end game scenes are awesome and I hope to see more alterations of them.
4 +/- I like the Spartan call outs but only to a certain extent. I wish they were more subtle because having some voice shout out an enemy location or when power ups are going to spawn pretty much for me ruined that feel of team coordination that you could only find by playing solo then finding a team who were willing to speak. I didn’t like hearing Spartans talk as well because it felt to me way too call of duty, Spartans in my eyes are warriors of few words and if they are going to talk well they better be using my voice not some voice actor. Elaboration on subtle call outs: By subtle I just have some text tell you when the next power up is incoming but definitely don’t call out locations of the enemies.
1 - I didn’t like how the colors of the Spartans (when customizing your own Spartan) looked. I also didn’t like how the colors were pretty much hard to make out but then again this is a Pre-Beta so I expected some bugs. When customizing the Spartans color I believe there should be more vibrant/dark colors which are easily distinguishable, I also think there should be a text saying what the color is.
2 - I don’t like how congested the controller feels now. I tried to “Gandhi Hop” but I keep activating the ground pound ability which makes you stabilize in the air for a bit before flying down like a meteor.
3 - I don’t like how when I am zooming in with a weapon and jump my stabilizers kick on and boosts me in the air. I like doing jump shots so I can get the enemy across the way without having to worry about being exposed too long.
4 = I didn’t like how the lobby looked but this doesn’t really count seeing that it’s a Pre-beta and the game comes out next year so development time to fix that is a long ways to go.
5 - I don’t like the ranks I hope they change it and make it more like Halo 3 where you have a max level you can get (50) but you can still accumulate EXP and go up grades and even if you hit the max EXP and rank you still can continue to earn EXP.
The game still feels great somethings I know will be fixed when the games development is nearing completion. I surely cannot wait to play the full Beta on December 29th. I do hope team ninja gets together with 343i again and bring that lovely katana back. I also hope that 343i makes the halo 5 armor like halo 3 since they were easily distinguishable and looked cool, so far it looks like it’ll be that way but only time will tell.
