Halo 5: Guardians Armor Unlocks (Beta AND Final)

Hello everyone! IGN just posted this regarding Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer armor unlocks. There’s 4 armors, three of which are unlockable through achievements, and the fourth of which is attached to Halo: Nightfall. Have a look and enjoy!

The Nightfall set looks amazing!

Put a butt plate on nightfall. That just looks dumb without it.

343i commented on the shininess and plastic look:

> Finally, 343 wanted everyone to know that what you see here is “early high-res armor development. Materials [are] not representative of final in-game model.” In other words, they’ll look appropriately battle-scarred, worn, and/or dirty when they’re done.

This means that Halo 5 armor only looks over-shiny and plastic because it’s not done yet.

Now this is what I’ve been waiting for! The models look more like whole suits of armor (circa CE-Reach) and less like the wetsuit power rangers of 4. This is very encouraging.

Helioskrill has shades of Hayabusa’s helmet.

Cannot wait for the Beta. Cannot wait.

Huh…I have no idea what to say.
MARK VI [GEN1] and MARK VI [GEN1] SCARRED are OK. But the others… NIGHTFALL is a bit strange to me and finally the HELIOSKRILL is WTF? That Arbiter armor copy…why are they let the upper arm unprotected? Now I feel that 343 should really learn how to make a normal armor that can PROTECT the body. And where are these armors? Because these armors looks normal especially the blue armor.
I know that, these are just a beta version armors but, c’mon.

Where are these from? If authentic, then they’ll surely make it into the final game. I didn’t expect 4 armors to be available in the Beta, so right there I think we’re ahead…

From the First Look of Halo 5 Guarsdians .(you can see at about 1:09).

I really like Helioskrill! They all look great

From the IGN article: “The HELIOSKRILL is a work of art crafted by a Sangheili prodigy inspired to test her skill against the best that humanity could muster.”

This means that it is not necessarily designed to see active combat, but more likely as a either a joint Sangheili/UNSC collaboration or work done by a Sangheili asylum seeker. Because of this it is not required to match with human design theory. From what we have seen of the Mark VI [Gen1], NIGHTFALL, and AVIATOR, and “Fred” armors, 343 has really stepped up their game on armor design.

At least the HELIOSKRILL looks alien because it was actually designed by aliens, unlike most of the armor from Halo 4 which was supposedly designed by humans (but looks entirely alien).

On a different note the armors show in the IGN article/video are only unlockable from the MCC. The AVIATOR and “Fred” armors shown in the reveal trailer are most likely unlocked ingame.

I’m so glad the undersuit is all-black again. That’s something that really bothered me about Halo 4’s armor.

AMAZING, i showed them to my friends who hate 343 and H4 armor but they approved H5 armor so far :3 i also LOVE the HELIOSKRILL looks soo Sanghelian ( becaus eit is ) awww why MUST YOU TEASE and good thing they will look battle worn, H4’s looked tooo new, but aghgh atleast i have evolve alpha wich im gonna play until nov 2nd, but aahhh why must you tease!!! i have to wait until december to even play the beta, atleast i have all novemebr to get the achievemtns and watch ngithfall ofr armor. eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkk

Helio skull or whatever looks awesome, and from the look of things now achievements unlock armor again! Just hope they get one for laso

Always a fan of the Mark VI, the nightfall one looks alright too, I am going to try and 100% this game so hopefully I will unlock all of them in the process, but man those achievements are crazy

I know, but that doesn’t change my opinon about it. It’s very ugly.

I’m really hoping scout armor is available in the beta

I don’t care what they call it, ODST armor is back once again and it actually looks like ODST armor and not the hideously designed one from Halo 4. So excited.

Anyone else hoping 343 will do a fan service for long time fans and bring back recon armor?
