Hello!
So since Xbox decided to let players try the new Xbox Gamepass membership for free for 14 days, I decided to this game a try.
Here are the things I noticed:
-the start screen is literally the same as Halo 4 and MCC except they messed with the audio. Kind of lazy.
-menus are utterly confusing and cluttered. 343i still hasn’t figured out how to make a menu…
-emblem customization has gone out the window other than coloring it (though the colors are nice).
-reqs…just no. Stop being greedy you filthy animals.
-zoom is now called smart-link? Um, why? If it’s supposed to sound exciting and cool it’s just another way to confused players.
-actually, riding on that point, this whole game tries to make itself out as some cool OMG WOW game, but instead it looks clunky and confusing. We call this “try hard” in the community, 343i.
-boost during sprint? This makes the game even more clunky. The chevrons in the HUD are in the way every time.
-getting into a match is actually pretty quick unlike you did in MCC! Proud of you! (Now fix that one as well. Almost two years of waiting on that).
-good selection of game types. Not bad.
-graphics in matchmaking are…cartoony at best. I thought this game was trying to look over the top OMG WOW, but when I look at these maps it looks like a minecraft mod.
-why do we need to see a cinematic view of the map? This is the whole OMG WOW part I was talking about. It just looks dumb.
-what is up with the walking sounds? It’s hilariously silly.
-apparently 343i liked Halo CE, cause the pistol is once again overpowered. Smh.
-grenades are like those party poppers you get at Walmart. They don’t hurt at all unless you stick it up someone’s -blam!-
-still no network monitor!! Why???
-thruster packs are the most unbalanced thing you cause have made. Congrats.
-are the spartans hardcore military personnel or are they my mother? Same for the announcer. I don’t need to be told that my teammate is getting shot when I can literally see it on the hud, or when the sniper has spawned. Shut up already!
These are just some of the many things I noted when I was playing online. I skipped story mode completely because I already know that it was terrible. Idk 343i, why are you trying to be a futuristic CoD? You had a good thing going when you were first given the franchise. Then you made Halo 4 which was meh, MCC which was a total failure, and now you’re trying to impress people with this and make them pay micro transactions? I’m glad this was free because this is, once again, unacceptable.
I won’t be responding to this post, so those of you who want to try and prove me wrong go ahead, but I won’t be feeding the trolls.
