Hardware of course being consoles, controllers and everything else. They only sold 150k copies in the UK as per the second article and have heard they only sold around 2 million copies elsewhere throughout the world in the first week, not $400 million worth of copies of the game that your article insinuates.
And how much does the console and other accessories also released in tandem with Halo 5 cost? Hmmm.

Exactly, the game costs $60 and the console costs close to $400 after tax in the US just for the console, another game and controller, so roughly 7 times the price of the game. This “hardware” also includes controllers and other accessories that they’ve added into the mix of “$400 million in sales”

How the -Yoink- is that a trick! 400 million is 400 million the maths doesn’t lie people spent 400 million on the game or consoles that came with the game
The fact that it sold consoles should be seen as an even bigger success as Halo is pretty much tied to microsoft

So well done to halo 5 for selling more xbox ones. I’ve seen some dishonesty in my day but this little display from you takes the cake, trying to turn halo 5 selling xbox ones into a negative defies belief

Well in the name of fairness I’ll also add that the 150k doesn’t take in account digital downloads which is mentioned in the articles and is given an estimate of increasing the overall uk sale by 20% or 30% though this is a guess on there part.
Plus lets not kid ourselves that the Xbox one has shipped anywhere close to the amount of consoles that the xbox and the xbox 360 had at the release of the other halo titles.
Also included in the article is the sales of the master chief collection for the same sales period which is 105k This was launch week of course, before people realised how long it would take 343 to even attempt a fix for the master chiefs matchmaking issues!
So all in all 343 went from the hype of the master chief collection, to people wondering if they could breath and walk at the same time considering there stupidity and all that! to 150K for guardians! Not bad all things considered XD

Proving yet again that there is no parade on which you cannot rain.
You also have to consider that the install base for Halo 5 is a lot lower than it was for the other games. More people had 360’s for halo 3’s release than people have xbox one’s for halo 5’s release.
