Griffball will most likely be in the next Halo. My question to those who like playing this game type is this:
What would you like to see different in Griffball in Halo 5?
Personally, I would like to see spawn protection. I am tired of seeing people just going into Griffball and farming kills the whole time without even attempting to play the game. This way it gives people the chance to fight back without getting so frustrated and leaving the game because they are not getting the chance to spawn.
And to those who would say “dont get spawn trapped in the first place” or “thats your fault if they could do that”. Those are easier said than done. Most people know that you would have to have a party not to get spawn trapped but for those of us who have to play with randoms, its not fair to us and even with a party it is still possible to get trapped.
I just want a fair game type where people play by the objective instead of going for solely for kills.
While I agree I also kind of don’t because it’s a part of the game and the strategy to actually score a point. Maybe there should be a soft kill zone in the spawns so no one can sit in the spawn for a match. I’m really conflicted with this suggestion because it is part of the game. The same way the NFL’s new rules make playing defense a penalty, spawn protection may promote defensive camping. I guess the other alternative is to give a second or 2 of invincibility but again not sure how this would affect balance.
Just make it so a player is invincible for 2 seconds once he spawns or something, like Bag said. 2 seconds shouldn’t affect too much.

What i meant by spawn protection IS the 2-3 seconds of not being able to be killed as soon as you spawn.
Just like how COD BO made spawn protection against the GL by having a 10 second delay at the beginning of the match so no one would get spawn tubed right at the very beginning.

I think soft killzones would be the best choice. Invincibility for 2 seconds would not bode well with people. Reason is that 2 seconds could mean the difference between not scoring or not. For what ever situation you are in, it would suck to not be able to freely move and kill in area where the threat of you dying is higher. Soft Killzones will eventually give a team some breathing room if they are being spawn killed.
