Halo 5 Graphics...

After watching the Campaign game play and the Warzone trailer from E3, as well as taking a close look at the available screenshots here on Waypoint, I’m feeling a little underwhelmed with the graphics.
Yes Halo 5 looks “Next Gen”, however they are no where close to other games we have had the pleasure of seeing at E3 from both Microsoft and Sony. I am mostly speaking of environment details, textures and the polygon count for objects you see in the Campaign level appearing at E3 as well as the Warzone map.
Circles still appearing as multi edged polygons that are no where close to appearing as actual circular objects.
The Sangheili text appearing all around the Campaign level which looks to be embossed on objects is extremely muddy. The rubble scattered around the level is flat, with low polygon objects protruding from the mess. The pillars surrounding the Islamic style architecture of the buildings which should have a smooth curvature appear jagged and misshapen throughout the level as well. All of that aside, the character models do look fantastic and the lighting is superb.
I know I am being super picky but I do expect more from a AAA title such as Halo 5. Look at what Battlefront and Uncharted have to offer for realism in their environments.
I am hoping that the build we saw in the Campaign demo is not final and the finishing touches are yet to be implemented in the game.

Post your constructive criticism and comments and let me know what you think. Agree or disagree?

I never take the graphics on any demo to be final, especially 4 months from release; but I take it as a good sign if you’re having to be picky to find things wrong

  1. This is a demo, they still have a few months to polish
  2. How many other games at E3 were 60fps. Matter of fact MSFT was the only company that seemed to push 60fps. GAMEPLAY>graphics

It is a good sign. I just believe realistic environments, sci-fi or not, really add to the realism of the game further immersing yourself into the game play. To some people this sort of things matters and to other it does not. The character and weapon models are super impressive and that right there pretty much wins me over, I was just a little let down by the work that went into everything else. I am being extremely picky but a large portion of the reasoning behind more powerful hardware is to be able to produce more life like visuals. If that was not the case, we would be content playing Halo CE era visuals with only a new story line and mechanics to look forward to.
