Halo 5: Good or Bad?

Across the forums, I am seeing both good and bad reviews, and I wanted to know how most of the community felt. So, do you think the game was good or bad overall? And of course, feel free to explain why.

I personally thought it was excellent, maybe even one of my all time favorites. The campaign was just right, and I loved playing with the other Spartans and using the new mechanics. I’m also happy about the return of the Arbiter and the allied elites. Despite what many reviewers are saying, I found the story to be quite good. We are reunited with old characters, I found the plot pretty exciting and well written. The only thing I will say is that the story was a bit all over the place, and for a new player or someone who doesn’t get into the EA, the plot will be pretty hard to understand. As for the multiplayer, it is simply amazing. Arena is an excellent playlist that completely feels like Halo to me. It is balanced and simple like classic Halo, yet the new mechanics give it the perfect modern touch. Warzone of course, is just as good. Its like taking every aspect of Halo and putting it in one game type. The game as a whole just has that “Halo” feel that I was missing. I’ll even say that to me, Halo 5 is a Halo 3 level game.

I’m liking it alot so far, they do need to crank out some more maps though…particularly for warzone. I hope they add that city based one pretty soon, I was kind of looking forward to that one.

The story was poorly executed, the game as a whole is distressingly lacking in content, the user interfaces are cumbersome at best, solo play is a chore, and I don’t much care for multiplayer’s frustratingly frantic cat-and-mouse pacing, nor do I like my fun quantified by the results of every game. Even when I’m successful at Halo 5, the act of playing is just not enjoyable. I was disappointed. 6/10, would recommend to some.

Has it’s flaws but overall it’s a really solid game. Shines the most in multiplayer.
