Hello, this is an odd issue. I ordered Halo 5 from the Game Store on my Xbox One. After it downloaded, I tried to open the game to play it for the first time. However, I got a message saying, “Do you own this game or app?” After a while, it kept giving me that message, so I decided to contact Xbox One Support. They responded with the following-
“Your copy was auto refunded by our system. However, I do suggest you contact 343 Industries on this matter.”
Once the game was refunded without my knowing, I never received my money back. So, could someone help me? I would at least like to have my game back.
Thanks!
So, I don’t think 343i can help you, because they are not a distributor of their game; they just made it. As the Xbox rep said to you, their system refunded the game, though if you didn’t get your money back then technically it’s not a refund.
When you look at Halo 5 in the Xbox Store, does it ask you to purchase, or does it say “already purchased”? Honestly your best course of action will be to go back to Xbox Support and insist that they ensure that your funds go back to your account so that you can attempt to buy the game again. Them sending you here is just them passing the buck, which unfortunately is a common issue when customer service doesn’t know what to do. Go back and tell Xbox Support that it is an Xbox problem, not a Halo 5 problem. Be insistent, be direct (do be angry or rude, it won’t help). If they say they can’t help, ask for the issue to be escalated. I assure you that Xbox Support is the appropriate place to seek help for your problem.
