Halo 5 Gametypes and DLC

Halo 5 is the first next-gen console game featuring 60fps and dedicated server support. There should be a lot of Next-Gen FIRSTs for Halo…

Here what Halo 5 should feature:
Menu
Campaign
Infinity
- Spartan Ops
- Wargames
- Theater Mode
- Forge
Halo Waypoint

The above Halo 5 menu should be much the same as Halo 4 Menu yet maybe structured slightly different. Anyway below is a description of each section:

Halo 5 Campaign - a story featuring Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, a spartan-II super soldier, who continues his journey around the milky way universe. The Reclaimer Saga is continued on this next generation console, making Halo 5 the second installment. Many trials for Master Chief await him, will he rise to the occasion to defend humanity once more; or fall like his predecessor the Ur-Didact and plunge into madness…

Spartan Ops Season 2 - a story that features the UNSC Infinity and their mission to reattain the Janus Key. In Spartan Ops Season 1, we discover that the Storm Covenant are trying to acquire an forerunner artifact from the imprint of the Librarian; we discover that Doctor Catherine Halsey will let nothing and do everything in her power to learn more about the forerunners technological triumphs… even to the point of desertion and insurrection; and we also discovered that Jul’Mdama AKA The Didacts Hand has destroyed Requiem which collided with a nearby star. So toward the end of Season 1, Requiem was destroyed, Catherine Halsey wants revenge on the UNSC for the assassination attempt and both sides have one part of the Janus Key, a record of all forerunner technology. Continue the journey of the UNSC Infinity in this next season, and find out about where the Storm Covenant is going, and what Catherine Halsey will do next…

WARGAMES - a simulation program on the UNSC Infinity, this is where Spartans train against other Spartans to better their battle prowess. This is were the multiplayer matchmaking and multiplayer custom games are located. Find many different playlists and gametypes that better your playing ability and become the best Spartan…

Theater Mode - a recording program on the UNSC Infinity, this where Spartan watch previous WARGAMES simulations to better improve their abilities and show other Spartans their battle prowess. This recording program is how spartan record there previous matches to upload to their file shares.

Forge - a construction system on the UNSC Infinity, this is where Spartans make different battlegrounds that can be used in the WARGAMES simulation. Use different parts and objects to construct a map that is unique…

Halo Waypoint - This is were spartans can look up their service record, domain video recordings, competitive skill rank.

Find out all of this and more in Halo 5…

Halo 5 Map Packs
Their needs to be a reason that 343 Industries releases downloadable content map packs besides more money… they need to target all multiplayer users by having unique and one-off maps. In other words, interactive switches, buttons, bridges or destructible environments like falling trees, breakable rocks; there is also options like making for example a Sandtrap type map with a unique vehicle or feature on only that map… to this day Sandtrap in Halo 3 is the only recorded map with the Elephant, making it memorable and unique. There should be roughly 3 maps per pack and 3 to 4 packs per game.

Halo 5 Sangheili Map Pack
This map pack is based of Sangheili worlds like Sanghelios.

The first map is dubbed Colony, the map is located on Hesduros, a sangheili colony world. It has old forerunner temples and structures that has two bases across a swampy environment, the bases have covenant shield doors that can be turned on/off for access to either base. This medium map is great for KOTH, Dominion and other objective game types.

The second map is dubbed Palace, the map is located on Sanghelios, the Sangheili home world. It is a Sangheili palace and is located in the State of Vadam. This map is set indoors and is a small map which is good for team slayer and other objective gametypes.

The third map is dubbed Civil War, the map is a post-war variant of Sanghelios depicting the war between the Arbiter Thel’Vadam and Jul’Mdama forces. The map has two unique sangheili vehicle which allows players to use revenants and spectres, giving them classic vehicles from past halo games. It has two bases spread across open ravine with vehicle wreckage and Sangheili corpses. This is a large scale map that is great for BTB, CTF, and other objective variants.

The above is an example.

RESERVED FOR IDEAS

Halo 5’s UI should really borrow from (Hell I wouldn’t care if they copy and pasted it) Halo:Reach’s. Say what you want about that game, but its UI was sleek.

Knowing what Halo 4’s menu could have been just makes it even worse.

As for gametypes I would like to see,

-VIP
-Assault
-Territories: I miss the intense firefight progression over locked territories
-Infection: Flood was wasted potential given how the infected couldn’t pick up weapons. Basic Infection was the bread and butter of custom games as we knew it.

As for Forge, 343 really needs to bring back the amount of moveable objects. Halo 3’s Foundry set the example. The sheer amount of content generated from that one exceeds any other I’ve known.

A lot of wasted potential in Forge not being able to recreate certain custom game gametypes from Halo 3 due to the lack of moveable items.

A few for example:
-The Swings (Containers don’t move in the same way when hit by explosives)
-Omega Journey
-Jenga (Barriers no longer respond in the same way)
-Puzzle maps (Almost non-existant now, RIP barrels)

Beside the number of ways you can exploit the interaction with moveable objects it also serves to better flesh out your map with scenery.

Foundry’s moveable object palette should be the standard for “Scenery” in future incarnations of Forge.
