As the title suggests, I am currently testing a Slayer Variant that I’ve been tossing around ideas for, for a while now. It’s had a few different incarnations that I’ve tested a bit, but I’ve finally settled on a final; solid concept that’s ready to be tested by players. The basis of the gametype is a faster-paced game, with a feeling similar to older Arena Shooters like Unreal without compromising the Halo feel. I’ve focused on making changes to the new movement abilities, as well as other base traits to achieve a nice flow.
Obviously, the Gametype can be found in my File Share; named: Blast Slayer, it should currently be the only one present aside from two no-timer variants of Slayer. What I’m looking for is any and all feedback of the gametype and any suggested changes I should make. Simply add me on live and download it
Feedback I am looking for in particular:
Sprint: I considered axing it, but Spartan Charge is somewhat important to the concept of the gametype due to it being one of the new abilities. So, what I’m looking for are suggestions on Sprint Speed or opinions on if the flow of the gametype would be compromised and/or improved with its removal.
Shields: Have I hit a nice equilibrium with Shield Recharge, or should it be adjusted further? I tried to adjust it to flow with the increased gameplay speed as a whole.
Grenades: Due to the speed increase and buff to Thrusters, I have also maxed Grenade Throw Speed and increased the Blast Radius by 20%; does this flow well, or does it need to be adjusted?
Motion-Tracker: Should I keep it, remove it, or adjust its range? I feel with the high paced flow I’m going for, it might end up redundant. As of now I’ve increased its range by 50%.
Performance On Smaller Maps: As of now, I’m not sure of how the gametype will perform on small scale maps; most of the testing I have done has been on more open maps such as Deadlock or Eden. Feedback on any of the maps will be greatly appreciated.
Of course any feedback is welcome, but I feel like these are currently the most temperamental settings. I will be adjusting the gametype accordingly based on the feedback I’ve received. I appreciate anyone who takes the time to take a look at my gametype, and any feedback I may receive as a result.
