Here we’ll post some gametype ideas for halo 5, since 343 may as well be looking for ideas. And please make the gametypes fair and not OP. Be sure to rate other people’s!
Format:
NAME
Description
I’ll start off …
REVENGE
No score limit
10 minute time frame
The point of revenge is to make the game bent around, as the name implies, revenge. There are are 5 points for each kill, but 15 for getting revenge, under halo 4’s scoring system. Also there is 5 points for assists on your killer. Score high? Get a assassination on your killer or kill him from the grave, 30 and 20 points respectively. No score for anything else.
JEALOUSY
No score limit
10 limit time frame
3 players minimum
Jealous of someone? Well you’re in luck! (sort of). There is this one, random marked player (marker visible to you only) you want to kill. Kill him to get 10 points. Assassinations are 15. But doom on you if your marked one kills his marked one. Then you lose 10 points! If he assassinates his marked one, you lose 15 points! If your marked one gets killed, you get 5 points. Beware! You don’t first off know whose marked one you are! Constant checking of the scoreboard is vital to winning the game! Marked one’s are chosen by a system where, for example: P1 is marked by P2, P2 is marked by P3, and so on. No score for anything else.
A variant where all players are camouflaged again. With the new system, it would be interesting.
How about first off bringing back all the missing game types which should have been available at launch before creating new ones.
8 vs 8 banshees. Yes I’m serious. would be fantastic on the Warzone abd BTB maps.
Conversion
A gametype partially based on Infection. It would work best in 4v4 games. Kill enemies to convert them to your team. When a team is left with no members, the remaining team wins. This is a round-based game so I would suggest best of nine.
Morale
Instead of a score at the bottom-right of the screen, you would have a bar on the bottom of the screen in the middle. At the start of the game, half of the bar will be red, and the other half blue. Killing an enemy will increase your team’s bar while decreasing the enemy team’s bar, and vice versa if you get killed. Your team will win if they can completely deplete the bar of the enemy team. Loadouts would be available in this mode.
Siege
A gametype which builds on what Invasion gave us in Halo Reach. Instead of making a gametype for each map like you had to do in Reach, Siege “missions” could be created in Forge. The Siege gametype variants would modify what you’d start with. In Forge, you would be able to create primary and secondary objectives for the Siege mission. One team attacks, the other defends. If the attackers complete all primary objectives, they win. If they run out of time, the defenders win. You could create variations of Siege which allow for one life per phase or create a version which would score each team on how long they managed to defend the objectives.
