Halo 5 gamer pictures on Xbox One?

So I was at my friends house just after he bought his Xbox One, as we were scrolling through the default gamer pictures I noticed some suspicious pictures that look very much like Halo armor from previous games. However, they were different in the sense that they were highly detailed and appeared to look like concepts. here’s a picture

This is completely unrelated to Halo… One more thing that I noticed when we were scrolling through was some pictures that seemed to represent the mechs in a game I very much cherished as a child called Mech Assault. here are the connections I made.

That’s all I have for today guys. Please let me know what you think!

This again?

Those avatars are more Titanfall than Halo, sorry.

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, Microsoft doesn’t tease things, they like to drop bomb shells on it’s fan base.

I see where your coming from however I must respectfully disagree. the aesthetic style of the helmets screams Halo. The color of the armor and visor and the fact that it resembles the helmets of past Halos. Even if it isn’t actually Halo helmets, I challenge you to find a Titanfall armor that resembles these as closely as Halo does.

I can agree with the 1st and second last pic…but not the others.

I haven’t see anything remotely similar to this from Titanfall plus the images look more like Halo except the bottom right which looks horrible.

Yea the bottom right isn’t one of the pictures I was trying to show. Neither is the top left.

This is something that I wanted to discuss too. 343i is very cryptic and they always tease. It isn’t out of the realm of possibility that they would throw in some helmet concepts as kind of a teaser for Halo 5. Also I would like to point out the similarities of the helmets for example, The yellow helmet with the blue visor is most likely ODST, the brown one to the left seems like Gungnir and the one below Gungnir, Pilot from Halo: Reach.

Here is a photo that I quickly put together, look at it and tell me I’m wrong.

If your talking about the Mechassault comparison. No way, if the Xbox One gamerpics are showing us anything, it’s a homeage to the Xbox originals. Plus from what I have seen, the Titans in Titanfall look nothing like the mechs in the gamerpictures. They just look too much like Mechassault. I mean really look closley at the comparison pics I threw together and you will see it.

The helmet I previously thought to be Pilot may also be EVA or Strider. I will keep you all updated on my conclusions.

The armor in the 360 for gamerpics/avatars isn’t exactly like Halo’s, it’s changed to be an avatar.

Dude, I say leave him be, he strongly believes it’s Halo related. Let him live in his dream world, and get a rude awakening when it ends up being false.

It’s…SECTION 8!!! LOLOLOLOL!!! XD

Those pics are definitely Half-Life 3, dude.

Half-Life 3 on XOne confirmed.

> Dude, I say leave him be, he strongly believes it’s Halo related. Let him live in his dream world, and get a rude awakening when it ends up being false.

I started this thread to share an idea. At this point I do not strongly believe anything. If you want to debate it, by all means please voice your opinion. However that kind of disrespect is nowhere near constructive and is uncalled for. The only thing I really cared about this was the fact that a Mechassault reboot was possible but you guys were quick to shoot me down on that one too.

> I started this thread to share an idea.

An idea that has been discussed many times before, and to the same result of this one. The idea of Halo 5 avatars on the Xbox One, followed by everyone pointing out common sense and the obvious, then the thread died. But unlike past threads, you posted in it 10 days AFTER your last post 12 days ago, as if this thread is a hot topic. You didn’t get any replies between your 12 day old post, and your 2 day old post, the first reply in the last 12 days was a day ago, around 24 hours after you last posted, then I posted, more or less saying “Topic is done, lets leave him be”
The last part of my post was a little uncalled for, but hey, it’s the honest truth.
If a few months down the road, we find out what some of the armor in Halo 5 looks like, and it turns out to be the truth, then buy all means, PM me telling me what you think of me. I actually don’t mind being proven wrong.

> If you want to debate it, by all means please voice your opinion.

I’ve voiced my opinion, in this thread, and the threads before it.

> However that kind of disrespect is nowhere near constructive and is uncalled for.

Dude, topic is done, if this topic was a hot item, you would of had more than zero posts in the last 12 days (Not counting my post and the posts afterwards.)

> The only thing I really cared about this was the fact that a Mechassault reboot was possible but you guys were quick to shoot me down on that one too.

Well then, if you’re all about hoping for a Mechassault reboot possibility, please, by all means, go for it, BUT, if it doesn’t have anything to do with Halo Xbox One/Halo 5, these are not the forums to be discussing it farther than what we have. Once Halo Xbox One/Halo 5 is ruled out, then the topic is done, unless something else pops up that farther the proof of it being true, IE Microsoft/343i saying something Halo Xbox One/Halo 5 related, and hinting at some Xbox One avatars.

But where as 343i has said nothing about Halo Xbox One, and Microsoft is more focused on the Xbox One at the moment, I really don’t think they’re going to start spilling beans on anything Halo Xbox oneish/Halo 5ish quite yet.

I’m sorry for being blunt and slightly rude, but the fact of the matter, this topic is done.

Edit: BTW I did find one of the threads discussing this very topic, and guess what, it was started November 9th, with 13 replies, in the span of 1 day, and then was done. Your thread started on the 23rd, got 5 posts the first day, 2 more the second day, and then the third day was your post 12 days ago.

As someone with 1. an Xbox One and 2. sense I can confidently say that NONE these gamer pictures do NOT correspond to any particular game or franchise though they may be intentionally REMINISCENT of them. The idea is probably to allow aesthetic taste to win out as the deciding factor in gamer picture choice rather than, say, franchise/hive loyalty.

A secondary factor may be that these also don’t undercut sales of future picture packs that will correspond to Titanfall, Halo, or whatever else these are inspired by. Anyway I wouldn’t read much, if anything, from them.

> I’m sorry for being blunt and slightly rude, but the fact of the matter, this topic is done.

Why, because the OP didn’t have the foresight to dig into the depths of inactive forum topics to be sure his idea was plucked fresh? I’m willing to contend that few if ANY posts here are truly original since at some point in this franchise’s long history there’s probably been a very similar idea suggested or criticism made. There’s a thread around here now asking for covenant mechs but just a week or two ago I saw similar discussions about bringing the Locust into Halo 5. Am I to jump all over those threads just because I think they’re a little redundant according to what I’ve seen around here? What about the current threads about microtransactions, sprint, JIP, or how good the graphics should be? If we’re to roast the OP here we should no less than crucify the authors of those threads.

Exceptions should be made for repeat threads started when there’s an ACTIVE discussion (ie. in the first couple of pages) but otherwise there’s really no sense in stopping people from bringing in a fresh start to the debate, especially when you consider that not EVERYONE spends all their time contributing to these forums (and thus may have easily missed relevant discussions.)

This is true, but still, I’m covering my butt incase someone sides with OP on the subject of my bluntness.

First, I want to thank Duncan Idaho 11 for having my back here.

I just wanted to clear things up a bit.

 1. It is true that I probably missed a little more then a few relevant discussions on this topic, only because I dont spend a lot of time here.

 2. In my original post I mentioned that the Mechassault thing was completely unrelated, additionally, this thread is not about Mechassault it is about Halo. It’s as simple as that. I threw in the MA connection because I know that for older gamers it could be a big deal however MA is not the real subject of the thread.

 3. As much as I dont want to believe it, I admit that the avatars are probably nothing more then a homeage to original games.

I personally still believe however that the helmet avatars could still be connected to the next Halo title due to how closley the helmets are related. I apologise that I would prefer to believe that there is more going on there so the topic may not be over yet.
