Halo 5 gameplay

So i played the beta … * Puts flamesuit on*
And why is the combat gonna be crappy ? Its simple.
Its way too fast paced so its just gonna be alot of sprinting around like halo 4, its gonna be less teamwork because your teammates will just sprint in all directions and die.
Its just gonna be a upgraded halo 4 :frowning: Why do you do this 343 why ?

Instant respawning, sprinting button, weapon indicators showing where the weapons are and whenever they spawn, aim down the sight for all weapons so its not wierd that this combat is a mess. I thought you would learn from halo 4 :frowning: This is very different from the halo we all know and love even though its still fun it could be much more fun these stupid additions didnt create a mess, its more like cod now tbh. Combat is much more random and with less control.

This will be the only halo game that im maybe not gonna buy.
Sad panda

Edit: Also dont have big hopes for the campaign after playing halo 4 …

Have fun with whatever else the gaming industry has to offer -_-
“Waaah, my team mates run away” What other 2015 NEW console game has old school weapon pickups, equal starts, and symmetrical maps?

These are all complaints we’ve heard before, but 10x dumber. Half of what you’re saying makes no sense.

Cool opinion, bro.

I enjoyed the Beta.

I too am not thrilled about the new motion mechanics, but on the other hand, I love Halo 4 - so what do I know?

I’m not sure I see a direct connection between the speed of motion and a plethora of skill-less players just running around without coordination or teamwork. Coordination and teamwork have been missing from Halo for quite a while and I don’t think that SAs, or AAs, or PODs, or even sprint, has anything to do with it.

I think you may be on to something when you say that combat is more random and offers less control. That is the nature of adding more variables to game play. But I don’t think it makes the game less - it just makes it different. You’ll have to learn how to manage risk in a more volatile environment. People thought 4 sucked because it killed skill and rewarded random luck. They were wrong. They were players who didn’t want to learn the new environment. They just wanted to play the old environment with new maps, I guess.

I’d say that you shouldn’t rush to judgment just yet. You may be surprised. And if you are, and it isn’t pleasantly, then you’ll always have MCC, no?

I would do more effort with the complain if it would make a difference, sadly it wont  I just came here to say how much i hate 343 for doing these changes, since im a big halo fan i think its sad its going to this direction.

I’m not too sure what your strategy was during the beta, but I found myself to require communication and teamwork much more in H5 than I did in H4. I could go out on my own and do just fine in H4, but in H5 the team always stuck together. Once people wandered off and got separated, we suffered greatly.

As far as campaign goes, I though H4’s writing was exceptional, and expect H5 to follow suit. If I were to rank the campaigns best to worst in terms of writing alone, it would be H1, H4, Reach, ODST, H3, H2. That is of course just my opinion.

This is exactly what I thought. I too believed that Halo 5 required more teamwork than most Halo, or any FPS that I’ve played. Since my mic broke during the Beta, I was extremely grateful for Spartan chatter.

Hate is an unhealthy disposition to harbor.

You’re not wrong, this will be the first halo game I wait for reviews to come out on before I pick it up.

u say it’s the only halo u won’t buy, yet it seems u haven’t even played h4…
another poor soul who’s stuck at the ravages of time

Dude, the Halo 4 campaign was amazing! What makes you think it’s bad?

Was nice having you in the Community, you obviously liked halo but dislike it’s direction. Goodbye.

I generally agree with you.

There isn’t instant respawning in Halo 5, and you can get shot out of sprint before reaching max speed. Team play is still rewarded as any team playing with teamwork usually wrecked in the Beta. In my opinion it’s gonna be like Halo 2 with spartan abilities.

Despite the sprinting, the Kill times are about the same as other Halos, with the BR only killing in .1 second faster than Halo 2. Only thing drastically sped up is automatic kill times, which any good BR player can outplay.

That being said, I too have no faith in the Campaign.

one think i want is gameplay footage from the campaign

I have complete faith in 343 that the campaign is going to be awesome

Good thing you have that flamesuit, you’ll need it. Not for me, I’m gonna try to be reasonable, here.

  • Halo 5 requires just as much as if not more teamwork than other Halo’s, and map control has never been emphasized so heavily. It’s critical if you want to win.
  • There was never instant respawning in Halo 5 and never will be.
  • You’ll just have to get over sprint already, really nothing else to say there.
  • The weapon indicators are only for power weapons, but, meh. I personally don’t care one way or the other about them.
  • Smart Scope is not ADS, but I’d be a fool if I said it functioned exactly the same as the classic zoom; it doesn’t. But it is far more like Halo’s zoom than ADS. I’ve never played a game with ADS myself, but people who have played both CoD and Halo say they are nothing alike in the slightest as far as function goes.
  • On the contrary, the combat felt very clean and sharp. So deliciously crisp, yum yum yum.
  • Oh, they learned from Halo 4. They learned. Trust me.
  • Yes it is different from the Halo we all know and love (and will always love, for that matter), but change is not always a bad thing. Halo has always been about change for the better, not just for the sake of it. Halo 5 is still very much the same game at its core, and the new additions complement the game quite nicely. (I know all about sprint changing map design for the worse, but what can you do? It’s not going anywhere any time soon, and it’s still a blast to play.)
  • Many disagree with the notion that it feels like CoD. On paper, you might see similarities, yes, but in reality the games feel completely different from one another and there is no point in comparing them.
  • If you don’t want to buy Halo 5, that’s fine. Nobody can tell you what to do with your (or perhaps you parents’) money.
  • Halo 4’s MP was a letdown to many, but it is universally praised for it’s campaign. If you don’t like its campaign either, I must assume you are smoking something very tasty and I would like some myself. (Just kidding, never smoke.)Well, that’s all I have to say, I guess. I hope I’ve talked some sense into you and opened your eyes on a couple of things, but I doubt it. If the reasons you have stated here are the ones that are keeping you from buying Halo 5, you’ll be missing out on one amazing experience that you won’t find anywhere else over very small, but for the most part non-existent, issues. Good day.
