I feel like this would be a good idea to test the waters before they release and get an idea on how the servers will work out.
I can’t seem to find the harm in it nor can I see it taking up a lot of time.

Wouldn’t take alot of time? Tell that to every bad PC port ever.
(by that I mean rushing a PC port leads to a bad port)

I mean you have customs, and forge already. I guess a couple months when I say that probably half of a year.
I don’t see it being as difficult. If there wasn’t anything like forge or customs on PC. I can see it being very difficult.

I think you underestimate what it takes to make a good PC port.
I probably do.
Halo on PC doesn’t, and probably never will have a good track record. Both Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2’s port to PC were riddled with technical issues, bugs, and performance issues. It took tons of patches to bring them up to their current state and even that is far from perfect. I have no reason to assume Halo 5 would be any different. I actually think Halo 5 would probably pose more of a challenge to port to PC, regardless if you take into consideration the fact that Customs and Forge are already ported. I mean I know tons of people, myself included, that have witnessed/are witnessing the issues that Halo 5: Forge is struggling with first-hand. The game is constantly seizing up, runs the risk of crashing, runs the risk of making Windows lock-up due to it’s absurd resource usage, etc…
If Halo 5: Forge is any indication of how a full-game port would run and perform on PC, I wouldn’t touch it with a 10-foot stick.
I’m Just going to cry.
As cool as this would be, there’s really no point, as iluftwaffles said, Halo CE and 2 on PC had issues, and after patches, are still far from perfect. Plus, we might get Halo: Infinite on PC, and since it isn’t out yet, they have more time to work on Halo: Infinite on PC, including issues.
At this point we should be glad their even working on the MCC. . .

I would love MCC on PC. Hopefully infinite is as well.
Infinite has been CONFIRMED to be on PC people, look up your facts.
“Xbox One and Windows 10 Exclusive.”
It’s 2018 gentlemen, Xbox exclusives are stupid when they have Windows 10. If it was exclusive they would have said as much.
And basically every reputable outlets confirm the game is on PC.
I think it would be very smart to release the Master Chief Collection on PC I hope it happens, with Infinite coming to PC Microsoft need to woo PC gamers.
