Halo 5 Forge spawning Broken?

My friend and I have been making an octagon map and every time we adjust the spawn we always spawn right next to each other and there are also delays when they should be instant spawning like we have them set. Has anyone else come across these issues? If so and you fixed it how did you do it?

Problem is the game doesn’t want to let you spawn right next to another character who is alive. Work around so far was for people to just have separate spawn areas and you teleport into the octagon.

I have 8 initial and respawn points equally spaced out around the octagon. They can’t spawn on the respawn farthest away from the player thats alive?

Yeah it’s trying to prevent spawn killing-which is completely stupid. 343 NEEDS to fix this major problem with spawning in forge maps.

What’s with the scripted spawning? It works in forge but not in the actual custom game. I set a crap ton of teleporters to spawn 5 seconds from each other with different settings just to see which worked and most of them despawned at the start of the game (like they were designed to) and DID spawn later, but when I entered a custom game they were all there at the start. I made sure to check that the map updated going back and forth from forge to the custom game and I still got the same results. The longest timer was at 30.0. I may be doing something wrong and if I am then tell me. I’m trying to make a sword tournament map where players are teleported to the next area instead of the bridges spawning. If someone could confirm that this is either a bug or not that would be great.

I made an Octagon map and the spawning is screwed up for it as well. I’ve tried everything and can’t get the spawns to work like they did in previous halo Octagons that I’ve made. When it’s just myself and one other person the game spawns the other person at the closest respawn point near me rather than to the farthest away. When there are 4 or 5 people in the game some of us can’t spawn for minutes at a time or at all and again, those that do spawn get spawned right next to the person who’s alive rather than across from them on the other side of the Octagon. I’ve tried 8 respawn points and 4 respawn points. I’ve tried running an FFA gametype with no teams and also a team gametype with everyone on a different team and the problem persists. Also I’ve been Saving as rather than just Save since that apparently is the only way to save your changes. I still haven’t been able to figure it out.

I’m thinking of having people spawn outside the octagon and take a teleporter to get them into the Octagon, but I fear it will be the same issue when there’s 4 or 5 people playing it, they’ll all just end up trying to spawn at the same spawn point rather than at random spawn points outside the Octagon.

If noticed Halo 5 likes to spawn you right next to people, getting you killed a lot. Not just in forge, but in any arena game type.

We removed every spawn inside the octagon and build 8 small rooms outside of the octagon. Each containing a neutral spawn with third person runnig towards a teleporter. Inside the octagon are several teleport receiver. Every teleporter (sender and receiver) are set to the same channel. This leads to fast random spawning!

Yeah, you’re definitely not alone. I’m having the same issues, particularly with Octagon-style maps. On larger maps where you naturally have a smaller density of spawn points it doesn’t seem to be as much of a problem, but I really hope this gets addressed soon.

Same here. I have Line of Sight spawn restriction turned off in the game mode, as well as “Ignore player proximity” and “Ignore Line of Sight” both turned on in the points themselves, AS WELL AS the spawn points being located in two different cubes as far as i can place them away from the map itself, having them teleport to the “spawn points” instead. It sometimes works, but it still prevents respawns 90% of the time. now, i adore forge in halo 5, but I’m at my wit’s end trying to figure out a solution.
