Halo 5: Forge (Sadface)

As much as I understand why 343i is waiting until December to release forge so it’s all it can be, I feel as if there won’t be allot to do. The campaign itself will take a day or two to complete and then all there will be to really do is play matchmaking, and as depressing as it is; all the next 2 months will be is grinding it seems. Is anyone else feeling this way or am I the only one?

Speaking as someone who has always played Halo primarily for the story, I’m more than fine with waiting a couple more months for Forge.

I feel the same sometimes, especially when the custom games options for player movement and Spartan abilities taunt me, seriously I saw an option for strafe speed which could mean pac man, and you can have the setting where you can carry 6 OF EACH GRENADE!!

CARTOGRAPHERS UNITE

I think the wait will be ultimately worth, it seeing as the possibilities are now quite literally limitless.

I’m guessing they want to make sure its as good as possible before releasing it.

Not limitless that’s exaggerating because there’s Ai/bots available, there’s no way of changing how the canvas looks you have to switch it. There may not be the customizable weapons like from Warzone, effects like snow slowing you down, lava scorching your armor, strong winds causing you to move, rivers slowing you down, maybe no underwater travel or underwater buildings within a water canvas serving like Bio shock. So not literally limitless there’s way more stuff that can happen with forge.

Oh, I’m definitely exaggerating, but the previous forges look archaic compared to the new one, combined with all the possibilities of the new mechanics alongside the new pieces, I can imagine that new ideas will come out of forge for a long time, especially considering that older forge still had tons of unique ideas coming out for years, even with a limited tool set.

Two days to finish the campaign? You mean you won’t play it on Normal or Heroic first and then on Legendary? You won’t play it over and over again to find every easter egg and audio log? You won’t find every single skull in the game and then play the campaign on Legendary with all of them enabled? You won’t try to get every single achievement linked to the campaign?

Because I will.

I got burnt watching Halo 3’s atlas group go almost 100% ignored by Bungie. No subsequent title has done much better. So, I will not touch forge until I see some kind of genuine support from 343, so the community can promote the end-result’s content from forge into matchmaking. Without supporting the end results, forge has little purpose imo, because its basically a map maker for a playless abyss.

Show me matchmaking support for the maps people make, then I will care about forge again.

Well I doubt they called in Community Forger’s for nothing, but we’ll see. Would be a shame to have them collect so much opinions only to not support it and content created with it AFTER it launches.

I believe to fully experience the game and have the most fun/make it last, it has to be taken at a chill pace, not rushed, and re-played (if its good obviously).
