Halo 5 Forge Releases In December?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I was looking at the Halo 5 Forge blog post and saw this paragraph!

The new Forge mode will release in December, just in time for the holiday break. From there, we’ll be running Forge as an ongoing (free) service for Halo 5, taking feedback from the community and delivering new features and content on an ongoing basis. Halo 5’s Forge is the biggest evolution of the feature since the original was released with Halo 3. Check out an overview of some of the new Forge features and capabilities from Tom French, our lead designer on the mode…
As you can see Josh confirms that we won’t be seeing forge at Halo 5’s launch. So what do you think? Can you wait the extra 2 months for your beloved forge???

The last time 343 released something before it was ready, it didn’t go so well. So I’m fine

if its to give us the experience we deserve then yes I can wait.

Well I wish we could have a forge similar to H2A at launch, and then release full forge. But I hope it means quality.

According to the end of the blog forge seems like something they will keep adding to even after its release. As for the December release date its no big deal to me at least.

Well, based on the video/all they’re doing with it… I can stand to wait, and I bet others feel the same. Halo 5 is gonna be the -Yoink-.

That wasn’t all they are doing with it, heck in the dev blog they mentioned that they didn’t even list everything and they have “long term” goals for forge

It’s for the better.

Let all the bugs and feedback get through early, and make sure everything can be implemented at full functionality. If that means waiting a month or so, let it happen. Better it launch after a month of stability fixes and improvements rather than at launch when the servers are adjusting and bugs are surfacing.
It also lets them work past launch date, instead of being ready and not polishing some things so they can make launch.

343i is handling Halo 5 pretty well, updating it in intervals so that it all works smoothly and efficiently.

Better late than never. Looking at the video? 343i did a lot of amazing work and it shows. They got in a lot of things the community was looking for. I know there’s no AI, but baby steps. All things in good time.

its gonna be awesome could you imagine how massive the enivronments ive been waiting for a long time to see what the community comes up with im gonna play halo 5 for a long time

When something is rushed, it never turns out the best it can be. I will gladly wait for this awesomeness!

It’s about dang time Forge became a proper map editor.

The word ‘service’ scares me though…

Maybe they are looking at forge kind of like the Unreal Engine. Instead of being part of one individual game it’s more of a platform for future titles that they build out. It would make sense to lay the foundation and continue updating that instead of building a new experience with every new Halo.

The fact that it’s still in development shows just how ambitious forge will be.

Look at it this way:

Halo 5 releases, then CoD, then Fallout, then Battlefront … what do you think might happen? Then December rolls around with BTB and Forge and who knows what else, and guess what game becomes the center of attention again? That’s right, Fallout … I mean, Halo.

That’s what I’m hoping for at least.

Yeah its disappointing that another game is made unfinished. Sure forge looks cool and all but the population will be damaged because of this.

Sounds good to me. I usually don’t hop into forge for at least a month anyway. I’m happy to wait 5 to 8 weeks for all these amazing features, and you better believe that I’ll be dropping a tank inside Truth just to see what happens.

So, you’d be ok if they delayed the entire game until December when Forge is ready?
