I just discovered something very interesting that’ll shock all of you if you don’t know. So again I was looking at Gamecheat13’s twitter page to see if he posted anything awesome and in one of the things he posted, he said Halo 5 Forge Offline is extremely possible(not his exact words). All it takes is apparently just changing 2 bytes. Changing 2 bytes. 343 are you freaking kidding me right now?! If this is the same case for Custom Games, then oh my god I just don’t know what to say. I’m just beyond pissed. 343, explain yoselves!

Gamecheat13 is a pretty reliable dude. He even made a video explaining this very very recently. Hopefully the mods won’t be all over me for posting this. They really shouldn’t since I see people post links/videos here all the time and don’t see them get their posts edited. Here you go.

True and a Modder isn’t a developer so I doubt he could even…
You know what the funniest but also the saddest part of all this is? Gamecheat in the video said this took him like 15 minutes to get it up and running just fine. When a freaking random modder(well Gamecheat13 isn’t random)can do this in 15 minutes, it really just shows how incompetent 343 is.

While it is possible for modders to find ways around things like this, you have to remember things like that needs to be thoroughly tested / put through QA before being released into the wild. Tom French has touched on this a few times over the last few months and it boils down to the amount of work for them to go through everything and make sure it’s something they can properly support going forward and also maintaining the integrity of the maps and matchmaking with the possible inclusion of modded content.

Gamecheat changing some code to get it working does not mean that stable enough or safe to push out as a fully supported feature of the game. With that, I have to remind that discussion of modded content is not allowed as per the forum rules.
