So I’ve been messing around on Forge and found that you can’t start a forge game with a map you’ve saved. It will load the game up, allow only the start and ‘view’(back) to be pressed (to view the scoreboard and menu), but the player-monitor-character will be frozen, which leaves maps uneditable. I didn’t expect something like this as the mode was delayed after release. I hope someone from 343i will see this and do something about it. Thanks for the read.
Could you explain further? Like is it when you load up a custom game with the map you created? Also have you set up spawns and all them little things?
Okay so literally the same thing just happened to me and I’m pissed beyond belief. So I just got back onto Halo after forging for hours on in yesterday. I saved the map, and then turned off my XBOX using my controller. Ever since I did that I’ve had no luck with editing my forge map that I spent hours on. I can only use the start and back button on my controller and nothing else…my character is just frozen!! Sometimes I’ll load over the map but mostly I’m underneath it. Never really thought they could screw up the thing I love most in Halo so fast!! I understand what you’re going through you’re not the only one but ya they had better fix this because right now I’ve lost all joy with forge already! I don’t want to have to spend the same number of hours again rebuilding what I’ve already done. I’m just hoping the game fixes itself
I’m having the same problem, makes forge unplayable.
Remember to put in spawn points before saving a map you’ve created.

heard it’s because you may not have spawn points
but I’ve set 1spawn on my race track map and it’s still broken. maybe 1 wasn’t enough #(
PROBLEM SOLVED!!! load up the map by yourself, have a friend in the arena lobby (not searching for a game just in the game mode selection) and send him an invite. He will join and he can place a spawn point in your teams color, which you need for next time.
also, for future reference, dont delete all the spawns the map starts with, just leave one of each color until youre done

Shadowsneaker68, that didn’t work for me. I have a nearly completed race track that I wanted to test in custom games so I put down one neutral initial spawn point and can’t do anything when I try to go into forge. I did exactly what you said and invited a friend who was waiting in the arena lobby but he just gets stuck the same as me.
My map works fine in custom games but I can’t add finishing touches or edit spawns, or do anything in forge. 343i needs to fix this -Yoink-. It’s game-breaking and put me off forge for awhile.
