Now before everybody says that it’s my graphics card or my processor or something like that, I want to make it COMPLETELY CLEAR that I exceed the minimum and recommended requirements except for RAM, of which I have 6gb, it gives me the “Your PC does not meet minimum requirements” message without a single error code after it, and then gives me the option to continue but not to close, but when I press it the game just crashes, and doesn’t let me play.
Again I meet every requirement apart from RAM (Which I am upgrading soon) but I’d still like to know if I can fix this sooner or if it’ll still not work even if I do upgrade my RAM.
You should always post your specs when asking for support/help with PC games, regardless if you meet the requirements or not. In most cases, nobody can help without knowing what you are using. With that being said, it’s certainly possible the game will not run with 6GB of Ram. Windows itself probably uses around 2GB, so that leaves you with 4GB free for Halo 5: Forge. I’d say the game probably needs at least 5GB free. You’d have to find out if anyone else is able to run it with 6GB of RAM. I recommend asking about that from somewhere else where people actually respond, like the Halo reddit or something. Also, try to get 12GB or 16GB of Ram if you plan on playing a lot of new games, as it helps to have more than 8GB even though nothing requires more yet.
Empress, was the error code “0x80000001”? If so, this is because of your CPU being slightly older, and many are having the same issue as you. Hopefully a fix will come in a future patch, but for now I urge you to contact 343 on their twitter and make the issue more visible.
…If that’s not your error code, then nevermind, I have no clue. Still send a tweet or five to 343 if you’re feeling nice :3
He/She doesn’t get an error code and who knows what hardware they have other than not having enough RAM. So, getting more RAM is all anyone can recommend with what information was provided. It wouldn’t surprise me the game would just close in this case, which is ridiculous.
