Would you prefer they carry over the reach/4’s template and add new stuff or totally redo the forge template with all new parts and just use the block section from Reach?
New console, immense possibilities. I think the Forge we know today should only be one layer out of the Forge of Halo 5. We need a map creator.
Forge in Halo 3, Reach and Halo 4 were nothing more then just adding objects. The maps given to us by bungie and 343 allow us for some great forge building BUT they limit our options.
A full map creator doesn’t limits out options.
They should rather give us an empty massive canvas and from there we can build mountains, grasslands, rivers, coeans , cities,… you can add weather options, day/night cycle, AI bots like covenant or flood units etc.
If they can create full map editors on xbox 360 with project sparks, then what do you think xbox one can offer with cloud and a colsole 10 times more powerful then 360. The options are unlimited.
The idea of forge as an object editor is stagnating and very limited.
A full map editor however is not.
The reason why it is limited to objects is to do with download time. Halo forge = text file. A few megabytes. Trials evolution map LIMITED (has way less objects avaliable than forge) takes a lot longer.
There is a reason why it’s just an object editor.
Can we have both?

Dude modnation racers allowed you to change scenery, time, object size and stuff. Still only took seconds to download a map. Yes you couldn’t have everything but it had scenery changing which halo doesn’t
Edit: The If you had a map creator all it takes is a word file to transfer the info. ?The large file size would only be or new textures and such, maybe you could have creation packs like LBP and MNR?
LBP and MNR?
Also, forge is largely about map creation. Good maps don’t need great skyboxes. Good maps don’t need different textures.
Believe it or not, you already have 3 sets of textures in H4. Forge world was nice, but you could only use a small amount of the space anyway, so who actually cares?
With the increase in RAM, expect more objects, potentially scaled to size, with more objects placable on map.
Keep in mind, guys, that Forge isn’t all about matchmaking. True, a good map doesn’t need scenery, but a good set does.
If the Xbox One allows us to fully edit and create maps, Machinima on Halo 5 could be phenomenal. Especially if what I’ve read about the “DVR” function is true.
