Halo 5 Forge BROKEN?

I can’t save my map.
Nothing saves! No matter if I do it the fast way, or through the menu, nothing saves. Even if I try and save it as a new map, it still doesn’t work.
This is starting to really piss me off! I put so much work into a map, hours spent thinking my progress is being saved, but when I quit Forge to test it in a custom game, my map isn’t there. I now at least know whether or not my map is being saved, as the “saving map, don’t turn of console” message won’t appear in the lower corner. But still, whenever this happens, I lose any motivation I had to continue Forging. I don’t want to spend hours only to lose my progress, then have to do it all again, only for to still not work!

I think this is an issue with the dedicated servers of Halo 5. The game relies completely on it’s online servers, and nothing is saved on the local storage, even Forge maps. This all could’ve been avoided with simple local storage for maps, which would allow off-line Forging and easy, reliable saves. The online versions of maps could be updated when I get back online, meaning there’s no discrepancies with the different versions.

All this effort goes into making a great Forge, the very best in Halo’s franchise, yet it’s held back by an easily avoidable glitch, just because 343 overused their dedicated servers. This makes no sense.

I agree, saving to servers is fine as long as it local saves as well.

I think this is just a small slip up with 343’s usage of online servers

maybe, but this could’ve been avoided with local saves,
also, there’s no reason for Forge to be online-only.

Except that there isn’t local co-op anymore so they might have just thought that they could just gotten away with having cloud saved files

The single-player campaign saves are local. It’s just multiplayer files online. I think because Forge came late, they just grouped it in with the online aspects.

Nope, works fine for me!

If you can’t Save As, then use this workaround:

Have a friend load your map alone in forge. Have them Save As a new file (it will work for them). Load their new file yourself in forge, then you can Save As and do whatever without issue, until it happens again.

Forge glitches all the time. I can’t move a switch into a spot where I want it without it moving itself back to were I spawned it. Also, some scripted items move in a weird way. My most recent map, Fort Charlie, I made a door that goes into the ground, I have 4 Trims to cover it. 2 of the Trims are angled in Custom Games but in forge they are exactly how I placed them. Forge is very glitchy with Scripting, and I wish it was on a server. If it was local I wouldn’t have any problems, but 343 made forge weird. I don’t know if they fixed it recently but I don’t think they know that happens. The game isn’t perfect, and they have done their best.
