Will they be adding a file share with the forge update?
I dont see why bother giving us such a nice forge if we cant even share our creations. It seems like this is a hugely obvious factor, right?
Ive been searching around trying to find a definitive answer on this but can only find discussion and speculation. Has anyone from 343 said anything about this by now?

specifically from 343? No.
However, since file share is needed for forge maps to actually be shared, as well as lots of people saying to make it, it’s a pretty good assumption that we will be getting it.
EDIT: Ok, from looking at other’s comments, I would also not put the idea of no file share out the window as it could be possible, however, if 343 cares AT ALL about any trust we have in them left, they will get a good file share up and running, especially after a lot of the big halo channels including the forgers, halofollower, and readyuplive said at some point or another that we need a file share. For them to not include it would shatter their statement that “We listen to the community”…well even more then what it has already.
343i hasn’t said anything on the matter, but I’m with you. It’s pointless to ship Forge without a File Share. They did it in Halo 4 though…
Well, in a few hours it’ll be December so we’ll just have to hope they decide to mention it in the next update that’ll be about the known December update (to be released sometime in the month).
As far as I’m aware, 343 haven’t commented on the matter.
You’re right, it seems obvious that a great Forge is useless without a good File Share. But then, we’re talking about the same company who decided that it was a good idea to remove King of the Hill, Infection, Oddball, Race, Multi-Team, and, until recently, Big Team Battle. For no apparent reason. I can understand removing them from matchmaking, but why remove them from custom games?
If they release Forge later this month, and there is no File Share for people to save other people’s creations and share their own, then they may as well not release Forge at all. I’m also really hoping that they add Infection. That game type alone is half the reason Forge is so popular…
I’ve been worrying about this for awhile now since they didn’t release file share at launch with halo 4 and the mcc collection just never actually got it…I feel like alot of people are just taking for granite that there’s no way it could ship without it. They wouldn’t possibly do that. But as my saying goes for 343I is " I beleave they can do it, but don’t trust that they will."
File Share = Slots available for each player to upload content like maps, screenshots, game types, and videos.
File Browser = A tool available to players that helps them find custom content on the File Shares of players.
You (and 90% of the people in these forums) are mixing up the File Browser with the File Share. Halo 4 and MCC both had functional File Shares at launch. The File Browser in Halo 4 was delayed, and was left out of MCC altogether (still mad about this). I am not worried in the slightest about whether or not we will have a File Share when forge comes out. I am worried about what they plan on doing for a File Browser, which is long overdue for an overhaul. I am also worried about which game types will be available since they haven’t given us any information about this. We look like a bunch of ignoramuses asking for a File Share. We need to demand an adequate FILE BROWSER. For what it’s worth, one of the cartographers that went to 343 said “343 understands the importance of a File Browser” in a Q&A so that makes me feel a little better about it.
LOL! I doubt it will be like Reach or 4…im guessing its gonna be like MCC…AKA pretty much non-existent.
We definitely need fileshare so we can share maps with our friends and such.
I mean if File-Share isn’t launched with Forge there will be no way to download maps or game types people have made. Rendering Forge Useless unless everyone goes ahead and locally creates maps.
I guess this way 343 could launch Forge Creations as official maps because that’s the only way people will gain access to them…

How can i share my maps with 343?
yo have 4 ready slayer, btb and cft maps for share, all of them are remakes of others halo’s, i just want 343 chekup them and let me know if they are aseptable to be on Matchmaking.
