Yeah and Halo 4 was different from how Halo Reach was, Reach was different from ODST, ODST was different from 3, 3 from 2, 2 from CE, you see how this point makes no sense right?
Halo 5 would cause issues simply because it’s almost twice the size of MCC content wise, everything would be overbloated and most likely cause several gamebreaking bugs that would most likely never be fixed.
In all honesty 343 could completely remove the REQ system from Halo 5 and make weapons/vehicles/reqs single unlock permanent use items, which imo would boost Warzones population by a landslide, especially firefight. People would actually play if they didn’t have to worry about losing their only nornfang or oni scorpion.
Ok and why is that? Because I can list 3 BIG reasons why Halo 5 on PC, specifically Steam as a standalone port could undo a LOT of the damage to the franchise and 343’s reputation that Infinite has done:
-
Continued support to squash any remaining bugs on both PC and Xbox thus making Halo 5 a more stable game on both ends, not to mention the potential of fixing Infection Custom Games, which haven’t been functioning properly for years now.
-
Adding the content they didn’t have time to add. We know there’s one more grenade launcher variant in the game as well as a sentinel beam variant, along with an unfinished Falcon, so odds are Halo 5 could actually wind up getting a bigger glow up than MCC did.
-
Three words: Official Mod Support.
Halo 5 is fun enough on it’s own, but mod support would revolutionize it as nobody has really modded Halo 5 like they have with MCC. Imagine entirely new weapons in the game or even old weapons coming back with variants like the Brute Shot or the Mauler, or hell why not even throw the Halo 3 magnum in there?
My point being there’s ZERO reason Halo 5 shouldn’t have a standalone Steam PC port, it’d be a literal goldmine for 343, and yes I would pay 60$ for the game a second time, because I enjoy it that much and play it as frequently as MCC.
However I would like to hear your thoughts as to why any kind of Halo 5 PC port is a bad idea.
