343 is spending to much time taking care of multi player that caimpain is kind of boring.
Because for most players, they spend more time on the multiplayer over the campaign

I mean, Bungie was able to succeed on all fronts with the original trilogy for the most part.

I don’t think that the campaign should be bad, Im just stating that they mainly focus on multiplayer because thats what most people play
lets put it this way. I have played 35 hours of campaign and 680+ on multiplayer/customs. They focus on multiplayer for a reason.
They’ve taken the COD route.

Halo used to be about the story as well as multiplayer.
Halo 5 feels like a complete opposite of Halo 4. With Halo 4 they tried to aim for a serious cinematic approach with the campaign but the MP felt like a CoD clone in Halo skin because “screw it, who cares? Its still halo”
But with 5 it’s more like “welp, we screwed up. Let’s fix the multiplayer.” “what about campaign?” “…We have one of those? Screw it, have the guys who made spartan ops wok on campaign. EVERYONE loved spartan ops, right??”
MP is the glue of the game. Keeps people playing and keeps generating revenue.

yeah but I they were to focus on something like op states then it should definitely be the multiplayer.
Yeah, they definitely need to focus on the campaign for Halo 6, while making some improvements to multiplayer. But I really hope we get a story that’s better than what we got in 5.
I don’t think it’s fair to say 343i didn’t focus on the campaign.
some of the levels and encounters are fantastic. It’s the writing and Promethean behavior and damage models that bog the experience down.
also, it seems like their attempt to make co-op canonical resulted in a poor implimentation of a squad system. It also likely caused the writer to shoe in fireteams which helped add to the story being convoluted.
its pretty clear to me that something drastic changed mid development, which effected the quality of the campaign in the end.
Well, if the information is true originally Halo 5 was gonna have a campaign that had a much deeper story that followed the marketing (you know #HUNTHETRUTH) and that it was gonna play like ODST were, Locke you would find clues about Master Chief and when you find one you would play a flashback as Chief in a level design similar to the classic Halos. But since people didn’t like Halo 4’s way of story telling they decided to scrap the idea in favor of what we got. You know like how WB forced Snyder into cut half an hour of BvS just to make more money. But you can tell at launch that Halo 5 was sadly a victim of a rush development just to meat a deadline.
Because you don’t level up from campaign fam
even though I would of liked a better campaign
it’s reasonable they focused on MP. To make more people butthurt
Wow, welcome to halo kid. They focused on MP more than Single player since Halo 2, Halo 3, Reach, and Halo 4. But you noticed now, so thats when it must have started.

Still, the campaign determines the overall quality of the game and rating. They should focus campaign more next time.

Pretty much. Halos never had campaign support post launch till h5, and that’s only cuz it was missing score attack and a few other things lol. Halos longevity to me has always been because of its multiplayer. That’s where majority of the support goes and it makes sense. Generally campaigns are a one and done ordeal to many people reguardless of how great it is unless it’s a branched campaign like mass effect, dragon age, the witcher, ect ect where you can change different decisions/scenarios where as halo isn’t like that.
Generally multiplayer is what boosts a games shelf life and keeps people playing the game. Many game developers focus on multiplayer exclusively because of this fact. For example, I can’t name a single character in the Battlefield campaigns, but the multiplayer experience is amazing. Furthermore, you have games that don’t even have a single player such as battlefront and overwatch.
However, on the opposite spectrum are games with amazing storylines that captivate a huge audience with its writing, storytelling, graphics, etc. An example that I’m sure everyone is familiar with is The Last of Us.
In my opinion, Halo 5’s multiplayer didn’t really have the same feel as the other halo multiplayers because of a lot of the mechanics which were added that made it pretty similar to games like Call of Duty. However, it’s still very very fun for me and I think its a step in the right direction while not being too drastic (and this coming from a guy who has never given 343 credit until now). However, the story was lacklustre and I think the majority of the population can agree to that. It’s not too much to ask for a game with a good story and multiplayer, like the original trilogy delivered. I still go back every couple months to past halo titles to do another legendary run through because the story was amazing. Halo 4 and 5 just didn’t do it for me.
It’s not 343 industries fault, Microsoft wants changes made and so many changes were made to the point where they didn’t have much left. Actually, Fireteam Osiris wasn’t even meant to be in halo 5, it was supposed to be somewhat of a spin off, But like I said, Microsoft.
H5 should way deeper of a story. On the last level it kinda leaves you hanging.
