Did you guys like halo 5, at first I thought it was a terrible game as I didn’t like the new mechanics and the ability to be able to charge into players and the new scoping system how it replicates COD. But overtime I’ve grown to like halo 5, while I do think 343 ruined the campaign by making Cortana a villain and friendly fire being in multiplayer which in return results for some toxic players and req packs being pay to win but I I’ve now grown to like it.
The campaign to me is one of the worst campaigns I’ve ever played in a game (not just halo). I had to force myself to even finish it just so I can say I’ve beaten it. However put that on the side and I think the rest of the game is pretty solid and fun.
I wish we got a different style of firefight though, would have liked an infinite number of waves that get harder survive until you die firefight but what we got is still fun. At least a classic firefight option with current firefight mode.

I think that it was a terrible mistake making Dr. Halsey out to be a bad person then praising the II’s which were in some cases even worse because whom they recruited from at the same ages and used their hate to manipulate them to join the ranks. Not my story, just my two cents here. As for Cortana, I begrudgingly agree with you OP. As for the gameplay itself, while at first I was resentful of how COD it had become, I had actually gotten used to it enough to where it didn’t bother me anymore. My only gripe is WZ FF where they can easily hijack our vehicles but we can only hijack vehicles that the AI had hijacked.
I wouldn’t call it a flop but it’s tough to call it a success as well. But at this point does it really matter? All that matters now is hoping for the best for Infinite because the writing on the wall isn’t good for Halo right now.
I feel like people sleep on this game like the cold side of the pillow. If they would just quit focusing on the negatives they would see that they are outweighed by the positives.
Look at my stats. I put more than 48 hours into arena and a staggering 1224 hours (51 days) into warzone and I bought the Halo 5 limited edition Xbox one console bundle on faith alone, I didn’t see any review or that much marketing before I buy so that’s your answer.
I didn’t like H5 too much, but it was not a flop.
At least I’ll say it’s way better than halo 4.
I’m not a fan of the H5 campaign and the multiplayer is just okay to me. With that said it’s definitely not a flop overall. Could have been better but could have been worse.
I think it’s pretty hard to call it a flop. Not every game has to make massive waves like Halos 2 and 3. Halo 5 was about positioning the game to be better moving forward. MSFT lost this generation of the console wars. They need to sell more Xboxes in the first place to sell more copies of Halo.
People overly hate Halo 5. Multi is great, I personally like sprint and ai squad mates, and I dont mind Evil Cortana. The problem is how they introduced the her back into the story, the marketing was misleading and some of the things in it were not good narratively, but what is there is good. But it is hardly a flop.
It lackes originality. I still enjoy playing it, but it was never something I got crazy excited about. Let’s hope we see an evolution for Halo 6.
