Chief is walking in the desert and find the giant forerunner structure
he might be using it to revive cortina or retrieve another IA
He also might be trying to get help from this forerunner structure and help it fight a deadly parasite called the flood
all the other halo games have flood but halo 4 didn’t include the flood
The UNSC might have accidentally unleast the flood again.
The new character Agent Locke might be looking for master cheif because the flood has been unleash
In the Master cheif collection arbiter said that all of our lives are at steak
The flood could be infecting earth or any other planet that humans live on.
In the teaser trailor master cheif could be on the ark because their are sand and rocks on the ark

I personally want to see the Flood in Halo 5, because the Primordial (Gravemind in a novel) said that Humanity was not yet ready to be tested by the Flood. When will that test be?
I kinda hope the flood comes back. It was an amazing threat to have, it dosn’t have to come back immedently but it would be nice.

I totally agree with all of this. The question is: who is the one stupid enough to release the flood this time?
Seems like you’re jumping to a lot of conclusions there. It’s certainly a possibility that they will return, but I don’t think the Arbiter was referencing them when he was speaking to Locke.

What do you think he was referencing? Having it be the flood sounds possible but I hadn’t considered what else might be threats.

Either the Didact has an AI controlling the composer like a stalker, or that big Robot is the AI that the ancient gravemind tricked into joining him before the Halos’ explosions.
I believe in Spartan Assualt Co-Op an AI said the infinity was running simulations to prepare Spartans in case the Flood ever did return. So hopefully 343i is hinting at something there.
Anyways, I too agree. I was still really young when I was first fighting the flood (I think I had nightmares at the time). When/If they return I hope they come back more menancing looking in design and sound.
On another note, has 343i shown any footage of what the flood will look like in H2A?

I don’t think they showed any montage of what the flood will look like for h2 anerversary
I would 100,000% be on board with the Flood coming back, and I feel that all signs lead towards “They’re coming back.” The Forerunner book trilogy was very Flood centric and introduced a lot of intriguing backstory to them. One of the Halo: Escalation comics ended with a shot of a Flood infection form in a cargo bay of the now-defunct Spirit of Fire. Hell, I’d even suggest the very fct that they made unique model for the Flood gametype in MP is an indication that their artists were trying some things out.
I’d love to see them return, and I would love to see them return scarier than ever. I’m talking Dead Space kind of stuff. Not ripping off Necromorphs, but give the Flood some more combat variation, more forms. Make them scary as hell to fight & make them scary as hell to look at. They almost looked a little cartoony to me in Halo 3. The Spartan IV Flood form in Halo 4 MP is a really great start. My two cents.
