Halo 5 first person vehicles?

I was thinking around and I thought a cool idea that I would really like to be added in halo 5 is driving in first person.
U know how it looks when u drive the jeep in farcy 3?
I think it would be really cool for something like that when driving the warthog.
Ofcourse u would also be able to switch from first person to third person when driving.

Make it look kinda like farcy 3 or battlefield. But halo style.

It would look really amazing when ur driving a warthog or a mongoose or maybe even a ghost :o

First person would require an entirely new driving interface, as all steering in Halo titles is done relative to the orientation of the camera. First person would become a HUGE awareness problem in vehicles that can most sideways like the ghost, wraith, and scorpion- nevermind simple things like infantry approaching you.

Would it be nifty to include? i guess. But the hurdles overwhelm what would for most players be very limited or nonexistent benefits. I think it would be a wasted investment, and I would rather see them put more polish on forge or theater.

I would like for them to reintroduce first person perspective for passengers.

The operator of the Vehicle would be blinded if he/she were confined to a first-person view, I’d rather have the option to toggle it on and off.

Optional.

But I’d like to see toggleable first-person passenger seats [in-game, you’d press the right stick; since you can’t zoom while riding, might as well make it do something].

And riding on the Scorpion treads in Co-op.

Guys, it should be one way or another. First Person users would be beaten everytime, because of the 3rd person driver being able to see more, all the time.

As long as its toggable, sure. Passengers should remain in first person IMO.

Although it sounds good on paper, I don’t think it will translate well in-game.

The maps are not built specifically for vehicles, and I expect them to certainly be too small to support vehicle-users in first-person view.

If it were to be introduced, I would like there to be a toggable option xD

People are ignoring the fact that because Halo doesn’t use a traditional steering system, its not just a matter of changing viewpoint. They would have to create two sets of driving mechanics.

Third person fits better.

To you guys saying it would require two different driving mechanics…these guys only changed the camera position.

If modders ca do it, then 343i can do it.

I would think those videos illustrate why it would never be used by anyone in multiplayer with an interest in winning. Those videos also show no strafing or sharp turning, like looking directly behind you to fishtail from a stop in a warthog.

But you are right. I was envisioning behind windshield first person, not in character first person. You could keep the base mechanics. They would just be horribly impractical.

What would be really cool would be to have the passenger not only see in first person, but be able to lean out of the windows and doors with the movement stick.

These videos were epic to look at, but in terms of multiplayer the drivers in 3rd person still get owned. I mean you would loose the potential to look around for incoming missiles you would be hopeless at dodging or even helping team mates.

But perhaps a new skull for the campaign?

Skull: Jockey
Description: All players in vehicles use a 1st person perspective ie. passengers, drivers, gunners.

Would there be no way of working around this?
It’s not something I have considered before, being someone that would love to see the option of switching between third and firt person view in vehicles.

> First person would become a HUGE awareness problem in vehicles that can most sideways like the ghost, wraith, and scorpion- nevermind simple things like infantry approaching you.

With the option to switch between first and third person view, would this really be a problem? Or would you also be concerned with how it would impact the quality of your teammates driving?

I can’t say that this would bother me too much to be honest.

You may very well be right.

I will say this; if there is any way for them to include it in the game in a way that works and is without major drawbacks, then I would love to see it included. If the drawbacks outweigh the benefits, I would rather they left it out.

I really like that idea actually! I would settle for that.
