Halo 5 firefight suffering from Destiny syndrome

I don’t know what it is with developers these days, ubisoft has done it, bungie has done it, and now 343… creating an enemy with LOTS of health that does LOTS of damage, that isn’t interactive is not fun, it’s the same reason why halo 4’s Promethean knights were not fun to play against, here is me in my last firefight game, walk up to the grunt goblin, put 4 rockets into the goblin, shoot it with all of br ammo, run back to the ammo point, run back, run back, run back, run back, run back, run back, goblin dies, 30 seconds until mission fail, fan freakin tastic, most fun i’ve had, and on top of that you can’t JACK enemy vehicles! What… Why not! That’s what was so fun about halo reaches fire fight, it was hard and if I made a bold move to steal a convenant ghost or wraith that felt awesome and rewarding. Just because you guys dummed down the AI and it doesn’t try to run away to prevent being jacked doesn’t mean you have to cut part of the halo sandbox out. And instead of making enemy’s have an ungodly ammount of health, why don’t you just add diversity to the enemy’s, snipers, tanks, ghosts and lot’s of elites?, the last wave should be a -Yoinking!- armada of enemy’s with diverse roles. not 3 enemy’s that go pew pew pew until the timer runs out because they have an assload of health.

At least we don’t have a player killing disease that has to be passed around every 30 second’s, so its a little better than Prison of Elders.

Couldn’t have said it any better myself. 343i took parts of what makes Halo, Halo out to make this “harder”. No EMP. No hi-jack. Super long respawn times. It’s not hard. They just stripped away our tools and made it frustrating.

and on top of that, It’s hugely annoying when I spend all of my req points on a tank to be out damaged by a ghost, ONE -Yoink!- GHOST, god this game is ridiculous, 343 stop trying to innovate, and just copy and paste firefight from halo reach, because you guys are obviously not good at “innovation”.

I just want Jeff Steitzer’s voice back announcing “Reinforcements” after every round i can man up and soak up all the other flaws.

Bullet sponges are not fun.

I agreed with your post until I saw this. You know damn well that if they did that you and everyone else would be on the Waypoint talking about how they are too lazy to make their own and blah blah blah.

First the beta was too easy and not rewarding, and now we have these kinds of threads. You can’t have it both ways…

There are ways to make things challenging by not making everything a walking sponge tank. FF is fun, but not as fun as it could’ve been.

Yeah, I came across that cap today for the first time. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It is starting to feel a little Destiny-ish; bad writing, but a fun game spilling over into frustrating.

You can have it in between…

I win some, I lose some. The bosses can be rather difficult, but a competent team of eight players can win.

What do you mean? There is an in-between. It exists, and it is called Halo Reach/ODST Firefight. People don’t want 343i to reinvent everything every time they do anything. Why do you think that Halo 4 and 5 have the low player retention rate that they do? People don’t want 343i’s vision of Halo. Bungie’s did a lot right, and throwing that all away because, “we want to leave our mark on the series” is selfish and is killing the franchise.

Oh it’s selfish? Bungie stopped making Halo because they just didn’t feel like it anymore!

I want Halo to go back to it’s roots, but only so I can point and laugh when it flops.
