Halo 5 Firefight or Spartan Ops

First of let me tell you that I’m loving the game so far, the story is a bit different from what I expected.
But the Multiplayer is awesome and I can’t get enough of Warzone.

So I heard a rumour about 343i adding in new gamemodes/maps/weapons etc, with updates (probably in December with forge)
I was wondering If they are adding a new Spartan Ops, I didn’t love Spartan Ops on Halo 4 but it was fun to play for when you are not feeling “brave” enough for Multiplayer. I Really hope they will be adding Firefight instead of Spartan Ops but I’m guessing that this is more likely.

If they do so they really need to make it a little bit different.
Instead of Spartan Ops, “Elite Ops”.
I find the Sangheili/Covenant Civil-war one of the most interesting subjects about the story, but they don’t spend a lot of time and detail on it since there is a lot going on in the campaign. Soooo, Wouldn’t it be awesome if they made a sort Spartan Ops but this time you’ll be playing as Elites (or even the Arbiter) and you carry out missions against the Covenant. It would be an awesome extra to Halo 5 and I’m pretty sure a lot of people will be interested, since the Arbiter and the Elites are all awesome

I know it wouldn’t be easy to create something like this, but if they add something like this with a lot of missions (or even better a good Firefight mode) than Halo 5: Guardians can be considered as one of the best Halo’s (IMO)

Spartan ops would be a welcome return especially if it continued the story from halo 5. Firefight would be awesome as a returning mode too but I doubt that’ll happen.

If anything some campaign dlc would be cool, like more missions for blue team or Osiris. Doesn’t necessarily have to take place after the campaign could be missions during or before the main story

I would want both but:

  1. There will not be Spartan Ops like or any mode that has Story elements Josh Holmes has confirmed this (this was on IGN)
  2. Firefight but with bosses would be great, I just don’t know if they would want to do that considering it will undermine Warzone. I really do not see technical limitations for a Firefight mode just modify Warzone by removing the opposite spartan team.

Definitely this. Feel as though they should of added campaign matchmaking due to the big emphasis on co op campaign / being 4 players the whole time. Honestly if Reach had it I don’t see why it can’t be in halo 5

id rather have Spartan Ops but id still love to have Firefight.
We dont really need Firefight if we have Warzone as that is basically PVP + PVE.
So overall id rather Spartan Ops

Dream scenario: New menu added to Halo 5, with the following sub-menus:

  • PvE Warzone: Warzone with the opposing team removed. - Spartan Ops: Continuing mission of Infinity, cut-scenes, mission objectives such as escort, defend, defuse, etc. - Firefight: Warzone and Spartan Ops maps, but with Firefight options - limited life pool, points/scoring, medals, random/escalating skulls, random/escalating waves, etc. A new “Halo 5” default set of options, but full customization options available, and several other presets available: Halo 3: ODST preset, Reach preset, Arcade presets, etc.

I like idea #2. I would definitely play that.

Firefight - Really surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did.

Firefight using warzone maps and REQs, tons of enemies

I’d much rather have Firefight, much more replay value and possible customization (if done like Reach).

The foundation for Firefight is already there, use the REQ system and add in waves of enemies.

They won’t add Spartan ops… To complicated and the game is already to close to the end of its development cycle. Firefight is the only possibility but even then, odds are small

An older thread titled Warzone PVE caught my eye and makes me wish to have that the most. But for this threat, I want firefight back.
