halo 5 dont even have a story that should be continued. Its story is nothing more than a disgrace for the series.
you can still call it halo 6. and why shouldnt it a chief story? given we barely played chief in the last game. ‘your fireteam’ was implemented in spartan ops and we all know how it was recieved.
You’re not wrong. I hated 5 when it release but came to really enjoy the multiplayer. The monthly updates made up for the lack of content and they finally brought in firefight after awhile.
But for a game not wanting to repeat the mistakes of 5 they’ve doubled down on some of the issues. Still so many modes and features that should have been there day one. I’ve given it time but I’m not surprised that my critiques at launch (that were hated and given a fair bit of pushback) came to fruition and the problems I knew would happen… happened.
We should have got attrition, infection, a bunch of other modes weeks ago. Still feels so lacklustre.
They want to make this game last 10 years, and so they want to stretch out the content.
And since Season 2 got delayed, they have had to stretch out the content EVEN FURTHER, resulting in this season having a slow pacing and lack of playlists this early on.
funny because attrition and some unreleased game modes are still in the game and has been from the games release. idk why arent they playable rn for public
Infinite’s art style better than 5’s? No, it’s a massive regression especially now with all the stupid and silly cosmetics which ruin it even further. So much for a “return to form” art style that does NOT even look anything close to futuristic. If anything, Halo Infinite is still the biggest disappointment in gaming since Duke Nukem Forever, and you need to take off the rose tinted shades.
Halo now looks like Halo again.
Not like some boot-leg game that tried to make a rival to Halo.
Halo has always had stupid/silly cosmetics.
- Hayabusa was a reference to Ninja Gaiden
- Armor Effects in Halo 3 and Reach
- Haunted Helmet
- Halo 4 with the Fotus armor and the Ricochet football armor.
- Halo 5 added the Timmy, Olive, and Seeker helmets.
Halo Infinite has realistic armor with goofy accessories that are entirely optional.
And that is entirely a moot point since “Futuristic” is dependant on the series’ established style.
Star Trek and Warframe and Destiny and Titanfall are all Futuristic, but each have entirely different portrayals of that design.
343 needlessly redesigned everything for Halo 4 and Halo 5, and now the fans have a stupid debate that shouldn’t exist over which design is better - Original and sleek or the out-of-place and overcomplicated redesigns?
Right?! It’s pathetic.
It’s backwards logic though, to underdeliver deliberately so that it makes the game less enjoyable. To give a false sense of appeal in later seasons by repackaging the exact content that should have been there. Problem is I don’t care what we get in “x months” I want to play the game and enjoy it now. Opinions will differ of course but there is a hell of a lot of content missing and I don’t feel better for it.
Like I tried doing the current event now getting a bunch of melee and back melee challenges and it’s just… bad.
They should have launched a full game first then add on to it.
Indeed it is backwards.
But they deemed it better than the alternative, which is the first half of Season 1 is packed full of content and the second half is just empty.
Covid halted and slowed production.
Full game would be ready in two more years time I estimate.
And they would be bankrupt with lawsuits from unfulfilled contracts concerning their loan sharks (corporate investors)
Either way they need to sit in the mistake they’ve made now. Bit late to fix a first impression for the game.
at the end of the day they had a job to do and sadly they fell short. I was hoping they’d actually learn from their mistakes and hold up to their promises.
If it’s not ready, don’t push it out the door. Simple.
I didn’t like Halo 5 because of how wonky the aim is. I really hated the weird sensitivity curve they had. Halo 4 was fine in that regard, and I don’t know why they changed it. It’s awful. No matter how much I tweaked it, at the end of the day it remained awful.
Every single firefight I’m in, I’m fighting my controller first, then the enemy. It sucks.
They kept it in infinite, but here you can mitigate it by tweaking A LOT of the aim-settings. Now I’ve got it feel like the older halos 1-4, and it’s just so much better.
no we just want the halo 5 beta back and maybe on PC
Have people forgot that H5 doesn’t have split-screen?
To be fair 343 did PROMISE to have the game updated to add split-screen. And then they never did add it in.
Here is hoping Halo Infinite doesn’t suffer the same fate.
Halo Infinite is an Upgrade of Halo 4, A downgrade from Halo 5 and a great value version of Fortnite.
- Straight FACTS.
Anything is an upgrade to Halo 4.
Halo 5 is a bit mixed in terms of a crap story and a level multiplayer, which is contrasted by Halo Infinite’s interesting campaign Act I and yet-to-be-finished multiplayer.
Halo and Fortnite only have three things in common.
- Free-to-play PvP
- $60 PvE storymode
- A shop that overprices their cosmetics.
and there you lost me.
- “ Anything is an Upgrade to Halo 4 “ - Agreed ; But Halo 4 has and had a better story than Halo Infinite ; So much better that Halo Infinite is having to Capitalize on it heavily.
- “ Halo 5 is a bit mixed in terms of a crap story and a level multiplayer, which is contrasted by Halo Infinite’s interesting campaign Act I and yet-to-be-finished multiplayer. "
( Eh, long response to this one… lol Sorry for that and here’s a Potato
)
Halo 5’s story was amazing if you followed Spartan Ops from Halo 4, Halo Escalation’s comic series that take place after Halo 4 and between Spartan OPs ; And If you read the tie in Books to Halo 4 ; And Halo 5.
Halo Infinite has an interesting story, yes. But that is just it, It is just “ Interesting “, when compared to JUST Halo 5, then you start to realize, Halo 5 has better story-telling ; NOW before anyone gets there **** in a knot, “ Story-telling is not Gameplay, its
- Introduction
- Body
- Conclusion
Which Halo 5 had all 3.
Halo Infinite didn’t have an Introduction, a Body or Conclusion.
Halo Infinites : “ Introduction “
( Interesting and a cool concept, but fails when compared to Halo 5’s “ Introduction “ )
- Halo infinite opened up with Atriox and the banished defeating the UNSC.
Thats not an “ Introduction “ Atriox was first Introduced in Halo Wars 2, expanded on in the books and the “ Introduction to Infinite was presented at the end of Halo 5 in the Legendary Cutscene.
The ” between and build up “ events of 5 and Infinite happen in the books, explaining where exactly everyone is at before the “ 6 Month “ Event in Infinite’s campaign. Which is why players are questioning “ Where is everybody “ and complaining why they have to learn bits and pieces through audio logs are… Well if you read the books that tie everything in, then you’ll understand Infinite’s Campaign better.
( Halo Infinite’s “ Body “ )
- Halo Infinite’s Storytelling is Basically “ Hunt the Truth “.
What happened 6 months ago?
What Happen to the Infinity?
Where is everybody?
Who is Atriox? ( Most players never played Halo Wars have this question )
Atriox is dead?
Where is Cortana?
Wait… Cortana is dead?
Who is the Harbinger?
What happened to the Promethean’s, Guardians and Warden?
What happen to Blue Team, Fireteam Osiris and the Arbiter?
The list goes on and on.
( Hunting the truth )
Compared to Halo 5’s “ Body “ You are given everything you need to know what the game is going to be about in the first 2 missions.
Mission, Play as the Arbiter… * AHEM * I mean Locke and Track down the Master Chief and come together as allies and save the day…
( Its the same storytelling as Halo 2, Lockes story, not Chief’s - Halo 2, Arbiter’s story, Not Chief’s )
Halo Infinite doesnt have a “ Body “ just questions…
- Conclusion…
Halo 5 concludes with Locke saving Chief, both learning that Cortana is indeed alive as alluded in Halo 4 with the Librarian speaking to Chief and Cortana about the Mantle and later on expanded on in the Escalation’s comics and books.
Cortana Ravages the Galaxy and we pick up with Infinite Killing Cortana, Killing Atriox… Atriox might be alive, Cortana is DEAD. Chief has a new AI, now named ( You guessed it ) - She picked it…
If you read the books, you already knew what was going to happen in Halo Infinite, the issue is how it was all fleshed out, “ Just Interesting “ to me, its just “ Interesting “ they choose to tell the story this way.
Halo Infinite end with a ton of questions, complaints and concerns for the future of Halo with the direction there going.
There is excuse… “ Soft reboot “ = Destiny 1 to remaking Destiny 1 and calling it Destiny 2 with a soft reboot.
“ Halo and Fortnite only have three things in common. “
- Free-to-play PvP
- $60 PvE storymode
- A shop that overprices their cosmetics.
( Eh )
As of right now, we are witnessing 343 “ Soft Reboot “ Halo Infinite as a whole game now.
From Gameplay, In game shop and how to actually approach the “ Free to Play “ market.
-
The Campaign isn’t worth $60.00
-
The free to play model doesnt work for Halo.
-
The in game shop prices are FAR more overpriced than Fortnite’s in game shop items.
In General. As you stated, we are in Halo Infinite’s “ ACT 1 “ , DLC will be “ ACT 2 “ and so on, so fourth…
THAT IS HORRIBLE Storytelling, Free to play model and bad micro-transaction system, which even now, More and new complaints about the in game shop have come up… Halo 5 had a 10x better micro-transaction system, $10 - $15 for a 6 pack bundle of armor sets or $5 for a voice pack of 3 - 4 ( announcers )
Halo Infinite is just a bad concept and poor excuse for a “ Halo Title “
