Halo 5 feels like a upgrade from Halo Infinite

I know bro :pensive:

Have you played Infinite any lately? I played a bit, but currently enjoying the pro series too much to bother with it. Tenrai event is cool, but the game is pretty barren right now. Its basically like Halo 2 in terms of content, which is not comparable with current games and all their bells and whistles.

Yeah people seem to’ve completely forgotten how absolutely horrid MCC was to start with.

Better yet 343i only actually developed ONE of those games and they were all ports. Not easy ports, they were very hard! But they also had to make tons of extra side content to keep people coming back.

Now, why is Infinite’s progression and such so different from MCC? GODS, BEATS ME, IDK IT’S A GREAT MODEL. But, generally speaking… Yeah, MCC did not come out the way it is today.

Once those last mod tools drop that’s it, no more support tbh.

I’ve been killing brain cells in Fiesta a smidge, just for the armor.

Other than that, started Borderlands 3 because… well there’s nothing appealing to do in Halo.

We should be beyond this beta test system of releasing games. You just said 5 launched terribly and got better, so did MCC. This doesn’t excuse anything. It’s a joke you even use this excuse when they’ve been doing this for a decade now

Nah it’s not an excuse. It’s a reality. Big studios don’t release complete games anymore. Welcome to modern gaming. And it’s all because gaming is a business now and companies get away with it because they’re making hundreds of millions of dollars from games that are dysfunctional but have a working store lmao.

lmao yes, except the movement, they got that right in infinite, but funy how even loading screen is waaaay better in h5 also btb was so fun but then they went in and broke what needed only a bit of fixing thats 343 though.

They got what right in infinite about movement? It’s the literal same as the old halos. Real revolutionary. Halo 5 had more skill gap. Everything is so easy in this game that it comes down to good team play and that’s it. You can’t absolutely dominate in this game, because there’s hardly any movement to master other than a strafe and a duck. It’s awful. I would rack up kills go on rampages in halo 5 because the movement would allow it and it required skill to master. .infinite is shallow.

Im left to die a lot after I get a kill because their teammate finished me off…where as in halo 5 I could out maneuver and wreck them. Infinite doesn’t allow that. I just die because I don’t have shields and I am a sitting duck.

Halo infinite is a casual game.

TRUTH…
and people will argue that Halo shouldn’t play this way…just because Halo…

The franchise is riddled with artificial delays and penalties to restrict the player so heavily you can’t have to true outplaying moments…Halo 5 achieved in it’s own way what Gears did with the wall bounce.
Give us the ability to move.
this community man it just destroyed what this game franchise would have been by going backwards and slowing it down…we are dealing with people that didn’t even want to sprint.

Seeing as I already dislike Halo 5 it’s hard to agree with you but at the same yeh Infinite is kind of worse and kind of hard to admit based on how much I dislike that game.

I’ll relax when they fix this god darned BTB!

That right there is the problem with gaming today. Released unfinished and patched overtime. Sickening

I agree with everything here. It’s too bad that I’ve made these points before and they all get ignored because somehow Halo infinite has a “good base”.

What they mean to say is the game is bare. Everything that is Halo 5 is more thought out better planned and actually had a soul to it. It’s its own thing. It’s a fully committed project and it shows. That’s why the thruster system is deep with the skill jumps. A lot was put into that game. The sounds. The way it runs. It’s clean. Honestly the cleanest shooter I’ve ever played. Halo infinite doesn’t come close.

I stood behind it. I was very vocal. VERY but all people could ever focus on was the campaign. That’s what really did the game in. The campagin. I didn’t like it either. For different reasons than everyone else but I didn’t play it like other halos

Someone above is right. Many didn’t get to enjoy things like HCS settings. Or the aim.fixes or the forge updates because they left early.

It’s a beautiful game that should be revisited in the future.

Halo infinite should’ve evolved on HCS settings
That’s what I thought they were ganna do.

Make the ground pound and spartan charge into alternate thruster moves that add to the movement. Making it more of a fulid thruster system.

I don’t understand why people don’t want to do cool out mannavers. I miss thrusting at angle and getting a crazy snipe shot while I’m flying through the air

Campaign aside, while H5 was a good game, it was not a good Halo game.
It doesn’t handle like Halo, and was the most drastically different gameplay from H3, even more so than Reach and H4.

If H5 was named literally anything but Halo, it would definitely be paraded as one of the best games of its time. The reason it flopped was because it was catering to the wrong audience.

People wanted Halo, and they wanted something like H2 and H3 again, or at the very least, Reach.
It’s like trying to sell caviar to people who don’t like seafood. Sure caviar is high class, top notch stuff, but if the people you are trying to market it to hate seafood, you aren’t gonna get a good reception.

It’s amazing,
Halo fans destroyed their own franchise by stagnating it and refusing to allow it to adopt to the changing gaming culture…

Mainly due to getting dethroned by call of duty as the main shooter and their ride not being able to handle that in people flocked to it for a reason.
Gaming and shooters in general got more fluid.
It’s innovation.
It felt better.
Regardless as to whether the over all actual gameplay is liked more or not.

Now, many are disappointed when their favorite game isn’t succeeding or getting developed properly or have enough content etc.

But
They refuse to acknowledge this and instead insist if it never changed it would still be number one.

It is called denial.

Halo Infinite evolving on Halo 5 would have been amazing and fit into modern gaming just fine.
I know it is considered wrong to write this on these boards but it also… Would have made an excellent BATTLE ROYALE.

Idk how to explain this.

I want shooters to evelove into more precision based. One things that’s always bothered me is the glossing over stairs. I want accurate body sizes that walk over accurately sized steps. The feeling I’m referring to is like when you thrust slide and then stabilize and hold the ground pound. It gave you enough time for another thrust so that ment you had more independence on where you were in space. I want shooters to move into a level of control that’s more logical and realistic. More momentum based. A step they could’ve taken is a vairble thruster than you can control like a throttle on motorcycle. Think devil may cry 4 with the sword rev ability. Something advanced where it gives you a more tactile feel. I Want real life parkour as moves for the combat but that are excuted realisticly

I can remember the Halo 5 launch. Yes, you had no forge, custom browser and the maps were limited between Arena and Warzone. You can see similar problems as Infinite. But you didn’t have anywhere as many technical issues, a mode broke for over a month and the next update almost half a year away. Things like co-op not being in the game.

Also Gameplay wise, I got to be honest, I don’t know where people got the idea this is totally different to Halo 5. It’s very clearly just a further iteration with some tweaks to weapons and abilities becoming equipment. I had no issues going from one to the other unlike 4 to 5.

BTW I heard a rumour they only started developing the game in 2019. Is that right? I thought CA worked on Halo Wars 2 and just assumed they went from Halo 5 straight to work on Infinite?

I see that OP is another troll that needs to be thrown to the Katorga/Gulag.

Halo 5’s art style was inconsistent and gross.

The music was bland and generic.

The weapons sandbox eventually became good.

The story mode was trash, like all things tainted by Brian Reed.

War Zone was all too much Pay To Win

Forge, Custom Games, and a Lootbox system that DIDN’T have duplicates were the only saving graces that Halo 5 had to offer. And Forge wasn’t even made by 343 Industries, it was Certain Affinity ONCE AGAIN making some great multiplayer content.

It’s the chain abilites. Nothing comes close to Halo 5. It was designed in a way where you can play with each abliity in a row fluidly throughout the entire map and if you did it right nothing would break your sequence. Everything is broken up in halo infinite to the equipment being littered on the floor to the people only sprinting and sliding and there other players having grapples. Halo infinite is widely different from Halo 5. It really was parkour while shooting
