Halo 5 explosives and leg shots leg crippling

Instead of people sprinting away from everything, explosives and heavy damage to the legs should cripple them. This would stop the player from sprinting, maybe have an effect on the screen and cause more weapon sway when running but not affect aiming or shooting and only be aesthetic effects. It could also (optional) slightly slow running speed, but I don’t think it needs it. Your legs would be uncrippled shortly after your shields recharged.

Weapons that could cause this

-definitely all explosives close enough to do serious damage but not kill completely

-primary weapons and power weapons that are non explosive that are aimed at the legs intentionally or accidently.

Weapons that could not do this

-pistols. I don’t think it would make sense for them to do this unless there was some kind of new weapon like a heavy pistol.

-weapons like the needler

Why this could be good

adds more strategy and options
realism (maybe)
new and exciting
effective counter to sprint that requires skill
possible options if those perks are kept or armor ability traits

it could be even set as an option in custom games

What do you think?
other ideas?
arm crippling as well?

I vote no to crippling, we are in MJOLNIR.

Seeing as all damage is the same when shielded regardless if it’s an automatic or a precision weapon (excluding sniper weapons such as the Sniper Rifle, the Beam Rifle and the Binary rifle),and that strafing is a good part of the game that shouldn’t be nerfed, especially since we have hitscan weaponry, I vote no.

I don’t see players sprinting away as a problem. If anything, shooting should slow them down a little more.

As long as we got hitscan weapons such as the UNSC weapons, the Light Rifle and the Sniper Rifles, this idea would do more harm than good to combat.

Sprint is fine as it is. If you get shot it slows you down enough that you might as well not be sprinting.

All the logic of shields that have already been mentioned set aside, this is a terrible idea that would have crappy affects on gameplay. Sprint is terrible for Halo gameplay and has negative affects on maps, but removing it would be a FAR better way to solve that problem.
