Teabagging, while a classic form of insult, has evolved over the decades to a point where, at least in Halo multiplayer, has become so wrongfully used in certain occasions, it boogles the mind if people even knew what the hell they are even doing. These are unwritten rules of when not to -Yoink!-, I follow these rules as a Halo purist from the CE days. Some of the -Yoink- I see kids pull these days are embarrassing:
-
Do not -Yoink!- someone if you “piggybacked” off of someone’s effort/kill. (i.e. your teammate drops the shield of someone and you finish them off with a headshot)
-
Do not -Yoink!- someone if you killed someone with a brain-dead/unskilled weapon unless it took effort/they had the upperhand (i.e. you beat out 2 missed rockets with an assault rifle)
-
Do not -Yoink!- at the end of a game when your team has been blown out (i.e. you tagbag the other team, but your team lost in Slayer 50-19)
-
Do not -Yoink!- if you are the worst player on your team/in the game (i.e. you are 4-10 in slayer and -Yoink!- the guy who killed you all game)
Of course you don’t have to follow these or even agree with anything.
Just stating my view on improper teabagging.
Feel free to -Yoink!- me during the game, I’ll make sure to return the favor.
- Do not tell others how to -Yoink!-
I actually use teabagging as a strategy, in doubles I -Yoink!- every kill to provoke the enemy team to perform rash actions

This actually works in many cases, even when your team is losing badly. Just got to be careful not to get killed while doing it haha
Its fine once in a while. As long as someone doesn’t get carried away with it or do it in a ‘win by numbers advantage’ it’s cool.
I’d also say don’t -Yoink!- in completely one sided matches. If most of the opposing team quits and you keep killing the few that stayed to finish the match it’s not something to brag about.
I love catching people teabagging- easy kill

Agreed. I have played several matches solo after all 3 teammates quitting. I refuse to quit as then I lose like 2 or more ranking progressions. Which in itself is stupid on 343’s part! So I stay and even try to engage when possible to give the other team action and when I’m inevitably crucified the other team -Yoink!- me relentlessly. Pathetic if you ask me and makes me want to play one vs one with all their noob -Yoinks!-.
I only -Yoink!- those who have teabagged me

What is so fun about shoving your balls and/or ovaries in someone’s face?
But feel free to attack my ‘insecurity’ by suggesting I play Splatoon.

It eggs people on.
Have you never played Halo LAN with friends? That’s just asking to egg people on.
It’s pretty much saying “I’m disrespecting you and there’s nothing you can do about it because I killed you”

With friends it’s completely different. It’s less disrespectful and more for giggles. We know each other. It’s a joke.
In competitive matchmaking, I never do it. I have no reason to. If I kill a guy, he’s dead. I don’t need to commit necrophilia to get the point that I killed him across, ya know?

you’re playing the game wrong man, stay classy though. it won’t be awarded or noticed. but that’s completely fine.
let’s play sometime.
Wow guys, this teabagging thing is getting way too serious.

I was making a joke. Honestly, I don’t understand what all the hoopla about teabagging, and when people preach that it’s a halo ‘tradition’ I can’t take them seriously.

That’d be cool. I’m fine with teabagging in customs, and i don’t mind it happening in arena. I just don’t have the inclination to make myself vulnerable to show off a kill. (I miss Halo 3 teabagging where the body would bounce up and down as you teabagged due to the physics.
And I think my first post got off to a rough start, teabagging is acceptable in certain situations. I just don’t like people that do it excessively.
My apologies.
