I’m looking at the games lineup for 2015 and Halo 5 is frankly one of the least impressive games that I have seen.
There are games lined up like Star Wars Battlefront from DICE that looks really promising and The Division from Ubisoft which is supposedly going to offer a new console experience. In my opinion and this is purly speculation, is that Halo 5 doesn’t have the staying power to compete with those two titles let alone the next COD itteration. What does everyone else think?
Beta Feedback: Halo 5 gameplay isn’t compelling enough. There are too many things in this game that can lead to poor gameplay. Things like ground pound are hard to use but I can still get lucky and get BS kills. The luck element doesn’t make for good gameplay.
First off a beta ahead one year is unheard of. Most of the time it is still in alpha state at this point so that means that they have been working overtime on this baby. Second yes those are two great game that are coming out, but COD on the other had is an injured horse that is getting put down here soon.(I would not be surprise if in the next couple years, they don’t create anymore).
On the other hand, Halo has the community, and a lot of new features that a lot of people have been likely(the forums lie about what the general poll think). And this is only the Arena Beta, so they only have two arena game types out here that are made to adjust the overall feel of the game. That means that 343i has a lot of tricks and things up there sleeve to make us stay. And again, one year ahead of schedule, a lot can be dropped.
End verdict: wait till E3 and the coming weeks after that before making an official guess on how it will sell.
Halo is a completely different game from both Battlefront and especially The Division. There is so much more to be revealed about Halo 5 and it has just like COD a dedicated fanbase that will buy the game no matter what other games come out. Also COD is becoming less and less popular but the only game that could potentially hold back some sales is COD but it will not take away sales since Halo is totally different from COD despite what people say here.
