I was thinking, and I could be wrong, but does Halo 5 really have equal starts ?
Yes we start out the same, but we aren’t equal. For instance suppose I’m sprinting and someone else isn’t. How are we equal ? I’m faster, and I have the option to do a slide or shoulder charge, yet my opponent can shoot. How is that equal ?
Im charging a groundpound and my opponent looks up and starts shooting at me. How is that equal ?
Traditional Halo didn’t have these mechanics other than melee shoot and grenade. The only way you would not be equal is if you picked up a power weapon/power up.
Generally speaking is this analytic point of view wrong, right, or what ?

looks like you answered yourself.
As for the rest of the post, your talking about post-start which is all about skill, power weapon control, position control, and/or spawn control.

You spawn every single game (except fiesta) with the same guns as your team mates and opponents. You all have the same abilities to do in the game. The only thing that breaks the equality are skill, pick up weapons/power ups, and elevation … Which has been in h1, h2. And h3. Surprise!
You’re implying that having different options with identical abilities is not “equal starts”. If you believe that to be true, then you in turn believe that Halo has never had equal starts.
You used the example of sprinting as opposed to not sprinting (moving faster or the ability to shoot, respectively). I’ll counter that with a similar example: one player is crouching, the other is not. One player is moving faster than the other, while the other doesn’t appear on motion tracker.
