I’ve been encountering a issue with my halo 5 copy where it will crash and close out the game, sending me back to the xbox home screen. i encounter this when i attempt to join a multiplayer match or campaign mission alike. I contacted xbox support and they instructed me to contact 343 industries directly but without a phone number this is my next bet.
So I’m having basically the same issue, except with the hard copy of the game. Xbox support knows nothing. Uninstalling and re installing does nothing. whatever happened to buying a game, bringing it home, and playing it…

I can’t even get on without the game crashing. Everytime I load it only gets to the Microsoft studios intro then freezes( more times than I can count, or I lost track anyways). But one in 100 It has let me play, twice actually ,the first time I did the first mission and then when it had to load again it glitches and booted me back to the dashboard. The second time I selected the second mission and it went to load and crashed back to the dashboard.
Now I’m back to only starting and running for 3 seconds only to glitch back to the dashboard. Xbox ran every troubleshooting ideas they had on my first disc, second disc, and now digital copy. They determined it’s a consol problem, the most knoladgeable person… The only knoladgeable person was a supervisor, and agreed with my reserch which it may be a RAM issue, where it doesn’t have to processing power to run the game due to a internal error. I only have ever had game freezing when playing GTA 5 and only when way too much is going on. Kinda makes sense… I geuss 
Either way I’m getting a new Xbox sent to me in 3-4 days… Geuss I’m out of luck till then… Sad that that’s the answer to this problem guys, but halo 5 runs the consol right to the max of its capabilities and if your Xbox has any issues this game will expose them.

I been having the same problem with the campaign in online co-op, my friends have no problems getting kick out of the game to the Xbox dashboard, Luckily my friends wait for me every time it happens and i join right away to every game and get the achievement.
Yup, having the same problem. Crashing to the dashboard after the ‘Microsoft Studios’ or ‘343 Industries’ intros 99% of the time. The 2 times I got in managed to get on: 1st time I managed to play 2 multiplayer games, and the 2nd time it crashed again when I launched a game of Arena.
Currently re-installing the game for the 3rd time… not pleased.
multiplayer/campaign works for about one match/mission before crashing hard for me. Sometimes it crashes before it finishes, sometimes it’s when the next one starts
This just started happening to me. Is there anyway to fix it yet?
Looks like this will never get fixed. Even with months of updates, this is happening to me. I cannot play the game at all. Will not load the game after the initial 5 second picture pops up.
Just today my digital copy completely crashes my XOne. Have to turn off the xbox and start again, cannot get it to work. It was fine yesterday.
It crashes on startup, the microsoft swirl starts and then it crashes, screen goes black and my receiver indicates it has lost audio and video.
