I feel like 343 lied yet again. With gimmicky Spartan abilities and maps being made to revolve around these twitch-based features, it’s very hard to believe that what 343 said was true. It looks and feels like a mix of Call of Titan 5: Destinyfield. It does not play like an actual Halo game should.
I’m going back to The Master Chief Collection and anyone else who agrees with me should to. Increase the population count of TMCC and show 343 that you want a true natural evolution of Halo 2/3 and not this CoD in Space garb.

I wouldn’t even compare Halo 5 to Battlefield. Battlefield I can drop a player in a few shots with an AR at medium long range, burst firing. I still have to adjust to Halo’s high TTK rates. The larger maps in Halo as well are equal to those in Halo 4, and no where near the extreme size of Battlefield maps like Gulmud.
Anyway that is my only critique.

343’s maps aren’t even vehicle-friendly. They’re gimmick friendly kinda like Battlefield’s. At this point I’d rather 343 release a self-titled Halo 3 Anniversary, but knowing them they’d probably release it glitchy, buggy, and incomplete with content.
So what i hear is, “they added abilities and made things faster, stop turning into cod” am I right, is that what your trying to say. The roots of halo was not the movement speed, it was not the lack of abilities, it was fair start, arena based combat. That’s exactly what halo 5 is, everyone has the same abilities, same weapons, same chance of winning. The deciding factor is how well you play, how well you control power weapons, and how well you control the map. Non of those features exist in the games you awfully mashed up into one.

Pretty much
And we all know how well a game like Halo 2 would sell to the average gamer these days…
BTW: had a blast yesterday listening to all the self-proclaimed “CoD pros” whine about how people kept stealing their kills and about why the other players had shields…LMFAO!
Oh look another person on the hate bandwagon, rehashing things and over exaggerating. Move along.
I have to agree with OP… The game doesn’t play like Halo. Playing Halo Anniversary, I could feel the difference between all the Halo’s. They only got better and better as the games progressed. Now though, Halo 5 feels different. And not a better different… The BR shoots like the DMR (one bullet) but sounds like a burst. The burst is almost too fast. No more flicking/spraying of the 3 round burst. The screen movement is also like the CoDs. That’s one of the things I liked about Halo was the movement. It was smooth. 343 made this too much like all the other FPS games with it’s “made to feel real” type movements.

CoD is bad and anyone who likes CoD should feel bad.
SO people realize the br still shoots a burst, they just reduced the spread that it seems like one shot, Halo 3 br spread was so varied competitive play with it was ridiculous. They moved it closer to halo 2 spread witch was tighter and more consistent. It appears one shot but it is not.
Halo’s roots were fair weapon starts and arena based combat, all of which Halo 5 has. It’s still far from a twitch shooter seeing at Halo still has the longest TTK out of all the modern shooters out there.
The entire game is based around even starts and power-weapon, and map control.
It is absolutely, without a doubt, 100% Halo.
Everyone needs to stop comparing FPS’s to other FPS’s. They’re all the same. But Crysis is different, you say. Well sure, thanks to abilities… Halo is different because everyone starts with the same equipment and has a VERY fair/balanced combat system.
In the end, guns are guns and they shoot and you win or you lose. If you don’t like Halo 5, don’t make a forum post crying for attention to it. I’m OK with criticism of a games mechanics based on them NOT WORKING or being BROKEN, but not when it’s based on ‘I don’t like it, it’s not what I’m used to, it’s too different or too similar…’
If you do not like the game, I am sorry and hope you have an easy time returning it. If you keep it, I hope you learn to enjoy it, maybe it will grow on you.
There are plenty of other games you can try. And I’m not just sending you off with some harsh statement, it’s just the truth. If you don’t like something, this world is amazing, YOU DON’T HAVE TO CONTINUE PLAYING IT.
If you send a few viable criticisms to 343, I’m sure they would love to see what you think of their game, but don’t whine to others on here.

Sadly they ruined Halo 5 by online only, removing splitscreen. Sure campaign was fun but there not giving players much reason to keep playing, already feel forced to back to MCC whenever the servers go down but even that is still partly broken.
As for equal starts…that is NOT the only thing that makes a good Halo game.
Have fun with MCC matchmaking then.
Halo is about team play and starting balance which is what I see from the game so far. You will need a team in arena that plays together. In Warzone I can see the battlefield thing going on but it still plays well all around.

Exactly. Removal of splitscreen and weapon lowering has ruined machinima for good. As if removing Elites wasn’t enough. That why if you support true classic Halo we must go back to TMCC and endure the partial infuctionality of that game. Better to be partially infuctional than play like a CoD game IMO.
