I have been having an issue where every time I start halo 5 the first multiplayer game will load to the point of finding other players, start to load, then sends an error message saying “cannot connect to the dedicated server” after searching again it either finds a match straight away, or never, I have checked my router, checked everything on my LAN, it’s not it, why does this keep happening?
Also I have noticed in the last few days that halo 5 hit registration is not working at all for prolonged periods in matches (8-10 seconds or so) before working again, this is a new issue
Let me guess, you’re playing on an Xbox Series X or S? This is an issue with Halo 5 on those consoles to name a few, the game is borderline broken on the new consoles and 343 refuse to acknowledge it or speak up about it. You can read more about it here.
Best advice I can give is quit build, try and start a custom game if it works then go search machmaking if not restart console.
