Sorry for the poor quality post, I am just curious on something with the CSR.

I have read all over that your CSR is based solely on wins / losses. Yet just yesterday (Feb 1st) the new season started. Me and 3 others started our team arena matches, all 4 of us played our 10 games going 7-3. But one was placed onyx, one diamond, myself platinum, and a third in gold.

Again, we all played all 10 placement matches together and we all did about evenly kd wise.

Then today I completed my 10 swat matches, ending 7-3 as well with a kda of 7.6, and I placed platinum 2. Last season I did worse and placed higher.

Just looking for clarification on how these ranks are so screwed up. Especially because before the January season started I was placed in mostly onyx, with two diamond.

Yah man your preaching to the choir. The flanking system is not a ranking system at all. They just “said” it was. Its all random man they didn’t have time to make a simple old halo 1-50 system that lasts forever no renewalssss

I don’t mind the monthly reset honestly. I just don’t get where they come off saying it’s all win based when it’s 100% obvious that’s not true.

The placement matches are based on skill and wins, after that its based solely on win and losses.

Its clearly not working. In cruise control to champion on youtube vetoed (a previous champion 1 in ffa) got placed diamond 6 in ffa despite beating several champs and winning 9 and placing 2nd in one of his placement games. The system is broken beyond belief. Should have got the max onyx 1700 based on the players he beat.

So yeah the placement system has been exposed as nothing more than blind luck or russian roulette. No more skilled at that! :frowning:

bring back old ranking! I mean they brought it back for MCC then they decide to ditch it? I’d prefer to actually be placed with players my skill level and not have to worry about awkward matchings at the beginning of each season

I had the exact same thing happen to me in the SWAT playlist as Vetoed. I went 10-0 in my placement matches with wins against champion players once and wins against mid to high onyx players in 6 other games. I was placed in Diamond 6.

At your first 10 matches, your CSR is mainly based on your personal performance as well as your team performance, but is not so much based on your team performance. After 10 matches, the only thing that can affect your CSR is by winning or losing, regardless of whether you did the best in the match but your team lost, or you did the worst in the match but your team won. The ranks are different to how many people have got a rank in that playlist, so you are more likely to get a higher rank in FFA rather than Team Arena or Slayer, because more people are in them 2 than FFA. My first rank in FFA in January season was Platinum 2, winning 6 and then in February it raised to a highest of Onyx 1572 but only winning 3. It can come down to how many people in the playlist.

That is plain stupid. Nothing like that should ever happen. I got placed plat 4 this season in ffa but am now ranked onyx 1663 so its obvious it isnt that accurate. Got placed entirely in.the wrong division like most people are nowadays. Would love to know what the criteria for getting onyx is in placement matches! And what they think constitutes skill compared to reality. Cos it cant just be winning…
