I’m speechless… Just a complete mastery of music in my opinion. Nevermind that it’s under the name Halo.
The glass chords at the beginning, the industrial electronica beat and the intensity of the strings steadily growing marcatissimo throughout, the dour trumpet solo kicking in near the middle then seamlessly blending into Halo 4’s 117 theme at the end. I just can’t even… begin to describe this theme in words.
I couldn’t focus on the enemies while this played. I let them kill me over and over and just wasn’t concerned.
Okay that’s something I haven’t seen many people mention and I think it should be brought up more.

I thought my intention was straightforward… That I’d encourage low expectations and would not praise the game prematurely before we knew what the full game was going to be like. See how many people ended up disappointed?
Yes I wanted to criticize everything I could think of, and I did so as often as possible, so that during the off-chance that my voice is heard before Halo 5 hits shelves, it would influence the game in a positive way. 343 was actively seeking feedback, after all (afaik they still are.) I’d even joined the community feedback program to further this.

Yeah, I wasn’t trying to bash or anything. You usually were more reserved in your opinions in the past, so it came as a bit of a surprise when I saw who it was written by.
