Admittedly, survival isn’t the only factor in determining who a better soldier is, however Master Chief puts himself in better situtations than the spartans who have perished in battle. A significant part of surviving certain situations in a war is coming up with the right strategy beforehand to put you in the best possible position to be successful. I argue that Master Chief’s ability to survive is not based on luck, but a keen intellect that is unmatched by other spartans who have died.

This is a reasonable explanation. But, how did the Librarian know that MC would need to have luck?
