There is no doubt that 343i was influenced by Destiny, but I am just surprised at how much the game copied Destiny. Like seriously, from a classic Halo game to a game with different rarities of weapons and unique weapon names, Just like Destiny. The rarities of the weapons also are pretty much the same as Destiny’s. The whole spartan company is almost exactly like that of Destiny’s clan system. In no way am I hating on Halo 5, it looks amazing and I can’t wait to play it. But I just find it interesting that 343i copies Bungie, even in their new game. I do, however, like the things they have implemented. H5 is going to be amazing.
EDIT:
Yes I realize that most of Destiny’s features have been used by other games and that Halo 5 and Destiny are completely different. I have been playing Destiny since its launch and also because MCC was a letdown and I just noticed that these features were similar. And yes, saying “Copying” is harsh, obvioulsy Halo 5 didn’t Copy Destiny. Just my initial reaction to it.
It’s also entirely possible That 343 had these ideas in planning / on paper and agreed before Destiny launched. Just becuase someone else does it first, doesn’t automatically meant the next person to do is copying them
Here we go again.

This, the spartan company is pretty generic so far anyway. Almost no different than a dedicated team forum that has existed in other past shooters (just the one’s i’ve played - destiny, killzone, resistance - I’m sure there’s more).
In your theory game devs have been copying each other since the start! I see it just everyone is building off each other in a sense.
Well by that point you could say destiny copied battlefield because they’ve had a clan system and a package system similar to engrams and req’s. You could say destiny copies from diablo with rarities of weapons. Same with minecraft.
Just because it’s relevant to the same idea doesn’t quite mean that they copied. Sure they’ve got weapons with names, sure they have rarities. Waypoint added a clan system… Just like halo2? Hrmm. It’s what the community wants and they are good features. It’s like saying pepsi copied coke because its dark soda and they come in the same bottle, but in the end, pepsi did it better
At least 343i didn’t put in a REQ Pack farm (Loot Cave) that they KNEW was there, and then patch it and claim that “We didn’t expect players to play like that.” Also the guns are alot more balanced that Destiny has ever been. There’s no pre-patch Thorn or Gjallahorn, all weapons are almost evenly balanced (Obviously legendary/mythic weapons are better than regulars, but thats given)
I’m fine with Halo 5 using Destiny’s ideas, as long as they are changed, I don’t want a grind-fest game

Yeah just like how Destiny’s system for this is almost exactly like Borderlands
If 343i was copying Destiny then they would have a terrible story, and none of this #HuntTheTruth would exist.

Your ignorant, item rarity levels are in 100’s of games and most of them frollow the same color to rarity pattern ex.(green,blue,purple). Clans are also in 100’s of games. Every game has atleast one similar aspect to another. xbox controllers copied pac man arcade machines with the anolog stick. You use analog sticks in halo 5 so therefore halo 5 copied pac man… see how stupid that sounds… even if halo did take aspects from other games witch it’s hard not to these days i’m still going to have a blast playing it!
destiny, is too diferent to halo, it’s a long way to halo and destiny, it can be compared those games.what simple is that ?
Halo 5 was in development before Destiny launched. It’s been a bit over a year since Destiny launched, do you really think it had that much of an influence?

Not so much terrible as just no story lol. Also it would be always online and hold back half of the areas to sell to us later.

Destiny didn’t have a “classic” game before it, so how did halo copy that?
And how would you go about implementing new rarities never before seen in video games? Also, it’s not as if Destiny was the first game to have items with different rarities…have you never played an RPG before?
Syndrome? Is that you? Or is that another Kurt? Navcom has like 20 different Kurts in it lol

Because Destiny’s item rarity and clan system are original right? I can think of examples it perfectly mirrors that are over a decade old.
Bad troll is bad.
Destiny was a clusterf*** and I don’t think Halo 5 is imo.
I’ve always found “copying” claims a bit dubious. Halo is copying Destiny is copying Borderlands is copying… something, probably. Even when games have things in common, a game is more than the individual pieces it’s built out of.
If anything Spartan companies is similar to Destiny’s clan thing but both of them are just new versions of the old halo 2 clan system there almost exact.
