Hey guys, seems like either the Xbox One X or the Xbox One X update is causing Halo 5 to crash.
I mainly play arena ranked and have had every play session since I upgraded to the scorpio end in a full crash. The screen freezes first, I can hear stuff happening around me and can still control my character (at least I hear footstep sounds when I walk, gunshots when I shoot etc), then eventually the sound effects go crazy and build to a cacophony before the Xbox itself hard crashes and powers down. I then need to physically walk over to the Xbox and go through the entire startup sequence (ie it is hard booting, not going into standby).
I have noticed other people on this forum have similar issues and have also noticed people dropping from games more often than usual, so I think it is a pretty widespread issue. Like I said, I have had every play session since the upgrade end in a crash and about 80% of games have had at least one person drop. Most I have been able to get in was 2, 3 maybe 4 games before eventually crashing. It often happens in the first game, like it did just now. I should also mention that I have tried to play over 5 different play sessions all on different days since the Scorpio came out.
A few other details: my Scorpio is oriented vertically in case that matters… Always suspicious of the vertical orientation but it was the best for my current setup lol. Also, I am running the game from the internal hard drive.
This is obviously a major problem, hopefully a patch is on the way?
Anyone else noticing this please post below so we get Microsoft’s attention on this literally game ruining problem. I would say the Halo 5 improvements are impressive enough to push it into killer app territory for the Scorpio and this really needs to be a priority.

same issues: crash after loading WF maps (“connection lost”)
even worse: my console simply sign off from xbox live and i cant re sign in (my wifi network connexion point isn’t recognized anymore, i need to turn off my console!)
i tried changing the ports and it keeps the same…

Same issue its crashing alot in Custom Games when someone leaves or joins. Or when the game ends in the lobby it crashes aswell a hotfix would be great it become worse after the last update.

Same here, but in a normal Xbox one, the game crashes after a delightfull warzone match
Mine keeps freezing randomly only ever since getting the 1x. Screen freezes all I can hear is the lobby music, all other applications run smoothly. Halo however keeps freezing.

Well it’s been 2 weeks and nothing… I even PMed a moderator about this and they just didn’t respond? I guess 343 is ok with their game being unplayable?

So you have the new X and halo crashes out? I thought it was supposed to read anything…? Or you think its because 343 messed up the 4k patch?
I’m consistently getting a lost connection when I play multiplayer matches. Only with halo 5 and only on Xbox one x. My internet connection is fine. My original Xbox one did not have this problem. Wtaf? Over half my matches fail mid game.
