Hey everyone, I’m not sure if this has been discussed yet (And if it has then I apologize. I don’t visit many forums on here) but should we add a mic option to competitive playlists on Halo 5? Like, we’re able to select whether we want ‘With Mics’ or ‘No Mics’?
Reason I’m bringing this up is because 343 says online Halo multiplayer is supposed to be a team effort when it comes to winning and losing and yet I barely find any people using mics. Now, while I understand that mics are not necessarily required to win a competitive match, I do feel that they endorse teamwork between players. And lets face it, how many of us have gone into a competitive match before with a mic HOPING to communicate with other players that are serious about the game as well? Halo 5 has introduced AI call outs (For the love of God, I love you for implementing this 343…) which I greatly adore because the call outs WILL at least give you an idea of where enemy players are at instead of wandering aimlessly till you find someone.
Reasons why there should be a ‘With Mic’ / ‘No Mic’ option:
Allows for players who have mic and want to use them the ability to game with other players who also like to use mic and use constant communication to work as a team
I feel it would increase the probably of people actually WORKING TOGETHER to win a game instead of everyone trying to do their own thing
It would (possibly) make people want to team up more with others and cause them to want to keep playing competitively instead of just quitting because they feel that their team is bad.
I hoped I’ve made at least a semi convincing argument. What do you guys think? Is it important or just something that shouldn’t be given much thought?
Side Note - Bring back the instant Halo 2 Sword lung instead of having to wait for the initial animation first. It would make the power weapon feel more like a power weapon.
I’m kind of torn between requiring mics. Like I don’t really use mine unless my friends are in my party, and the reason for that is, moooost of the people who still use game chat have the most annoying voice/background noise/whatever.

Maybe if you play at a highest skill of 5. When you’re a H3 50 and you go to something like Reach, 4, or 5 you slaughter kids who can’t seem to find their joysticks.

You mean, if you are ranked as a 50 in H3 the competition is better than if you’re ranked in a bad league in H5? I’m pretty sure that the competition on a low rank in H3 is the same.
If you’re good enough, you will get ranked as a semi-pro and you will have a lot of competitive matches, or am I wrong?

Beg to differ(not saying im a major competitive player) as to many competitive players.
Halo 5 Gives player the mean to play more competitively EI communication and awareness
And I find it odd that you think its easier to get kills when the Auto aim is lower then halo 2, and bullet magnetism is lower then halo 3,

Really Then you must not have been playing very good and were a very low rank because the higher rank were extremely competitive.

I was thinking the same thing lol. And no you’re not wrong. Though the match making was limited due to it being a beta
