Halo 5 Community Observations

This forum has highlighted a few things that define this forum perfectly:

based on only a beta:

  • many think this is easily the best Halo in the history of Halo.
  • many think this is easily the worst Halo in the history of Halo.
  • if you dislike the beta, you’re not welcome here and your opinion is tied to the fact that you are unable to adapt.
  • if you like the beta, your opinion is now veritable fact and anyone who disagrees with you is clearly intellectually inferior.
  • if you default to the original trilogy as your favorite set of Halo games, you’re simply too old to know what makes something good and you need to stop playing now.

That is a bit one sided. It is also clear to some that anyone who doesn’t see that this is a blatant CoD ripoff is a scrub noob LOLOLOLOLOL. Ahem. Ah, I need to wash my mouth out…

Not one sided at all. I love the beta, but if some one doesn’t like the game it’s “0hz 5o u wnt HaL0 2 agn!1!!” Even if they have valid points. It’s ridiculous.

“Adapt” is by far one of the dumbest arguments I have ever heard for justifying poor game-play changes.

In Halo 2 my highest rank was 40 and was mid to high 30s in everything else, I had 50s in every playlist in Halo 3, I was 2% onyx in Reach. It doesn’t matter to me what features they add to the game, I’m still doing to destroy 99.9% of people I go up against. For Halo 2 they told me to adapt to not having the pistol, in Halo 3 they told me to adapt to equipment and the BR spread, in Halo Reach they told me to adapt to Armor Abilities.

Adapting isn’t the issue. I’m going to adapt, better than you are. It’s about making the game fun to be played on a competitive level, which Halo 4 and, so far, Halo 5 have failed to do.
