Definitely not in game graphics considering the camera crew like civilian on the right lol. It’s live action, people are speculating a commercial or Spielberg’s series.

Actually, if I was trying to make a good hoax, then I would have added that random person in the background to makes it seem more realistic. From what I can tell, the two Spartans and the monument itself look like CG art while the scenery looks real. I hope this is real, but most likely than not its a fan made scene.

I was thinking that- but here’s the evidence it’s real. The armor they’re wearing is actually real, because fan-made CGI could NEVER look that good, and the background stuff is very detailed for a fan to make. This picture was taken by a staff with an iPhone, as iPhones take videos in this resolution and not really widescreen. And the guy is just another staff member probably fixing something in the set.

If that is a dead Chief then I duno what to say, however we should remember the intro to Halo 3.
Some observations:
- This is most likely a photo from a H5 advertisement (akin to H4’s ‘Scanned) OR from Spielberg’s series
- There are three persons on that picture: Chief, a second Spartan (Locke?) and a guy with a hat on the right side (most likely someone from the production team)
- The object in the middle looks like a war memorial or something that would be placed at a military academy, the text is {duty and honor above all} – it’s shape is very similar to that of the memorial at the end of H3 but that wasn’t made of stone [Pelican wing]
- The area is full of debris of unknown origin, the memorial is heavily damaged too with what looks like bullet holes on the left side
- There’s a smoking crater on the bottom right - there’s obviously been some kind of explosion as you can see conically destructions and smoke trails on the monument
- Chief’s body axis is turned to the left side too which implies that he’s also been hit by that same explosion – another indicator is that there is debris on his armor (especially his legs) which means that he isn’t just resting there
Please note that Chief isn’t lying in the crater which combined with the above observations indicates that he hasn’t fallen from the sky (if he crawled from the hole after crash-landing there wouldn’t be debris on his legs)
At the bottom center there seems to be an AR and a Pistol between the debris which most likely belong to MC - The other Spartan (Locke?) doesn’t wear a helmet which is a hint that he isn’t in a combat situation right now – however it looks as though he’s reaching for his weapon with his right hand
It’s very hard to tell but it seems as though he’s wearing some kind of mask
OMG! Just imagine the Halo 5 cutscenes were all live action + CGI. Now that would be cool. Probably the spielberg production though
I really hope it’s an advert, and not Spielberg’s series. I’m fed up of important things happening outside of the game. It’s fine for people like us who’ll actually watch it, but a large portion of the player base won’t, and will be confused. I’m still amazed the Didact returned in Escalation…
Maybe this scene takes place after a fight between Locke and Chief, with Locke as a winner, but I don’t want to be right
