Should Halo 5 give more for completing commendations?

It does. Go to the top right of your browser, click your tag, click profile, in the middle right of your screen click service record, click Halo 5, then in the upper middle part of your screen click commendations. These are your challenges. Completing them gets you XP and Req packs

The answer is no, Commendations are good as they are. A side note is that you and your Spartan Company also have Commendations you can work on together that give you XP and Req packs
