To start I know the game comes out on the 27th of October but I recently went to gamestop to ask about that trading in the digital code for a disk thing. anyway The guy at the front counter told me I can pick up my collectors edition on the 20th of of October and not the 27th. Im wondering if that means ill get to play the game 7 days early or its just a pre install thing?

Yep no difference really you just get the chance to automatically play when it releases on the 27th

i mean what determines the game being playable? if i changed my timezone on my xbox would it make the game playable?

that sounds extremely unlikely. there is probably a global release and the servers become available at the same time (in their timezone point-of-view) for everyone.
